Very nice location in Michigan City, IN, just a short boardwalk stroll to the Lake Michigan beach. We live in central Missouri and only had a 6-hr drive. Spent good portion of a day and did some hiking at Indiana Dunes National Park, which was less than 20 minutes away. Spent another day taking in the 44th Annual Popcorn Festival in Valparaiso IN, which was very enjoyable. Also went up the Michigan shoreline to New Buffalo, St Joseph and Benton Harbor to some nice beaches and restaurants. Very nice accommodations and very nice area.

Homes in Beachwalk are closely spaced and many have carriage apartments built above the main house's garage which is what we rented. The benefit of this particular rental is it's close to the main road where there are fewer surrounding homes and noise level is better. It is also very close to the actual boardwalk entrance to lovely Lake Michigan.
The accommodation was exactly as advertised. Laundry facilities, closet, king size bed in loft. Bathroom, living space and small kitchen on first level. Full internet and smart TV. Bright and sunny.
Hosts were friendly and welcoming. We would happily book again. There appear to be many additional amenities in Beachwalk that we did not take advantage of. A pool, exercise classes, a small lake, etc.
Only downside: We were there on Labor Day Weekend. The Michigan City/Long Beach area on July 4 or Labor Day is unbelievably crowded and Beachwalk is so densely populated with residents and renters it is a bit overwhelming.

We had an amazing time! It was just enough space for the 4 of us. Being very close to the beach was a plus. Lake Michigan sunsets are a "must do."

Our stay at the Honeysuckle Carriage House was perfect for our family of 4 (2&5 year old girls) despite the weather being a littler colder than the past two years we have been here. The pool was heated and the clubhouse provided plenty of activities from volleyball, pool table, basketball, etc. The house and beachwalk resort are so well managed, maintained, and clean with plenty of activities for the whole family. The location is perfect across from the lake and an easy walk to pool/clubhouse. Plenty of kitchen accessories including a can opener. The baby gate was great for the top of the stairs and the twin foldouts worked great for our girls. The owners of the main house were very pleasant. We would recommend to small families.

Family of four with 13 year old twins stayed comfortably.
Well appointed and truly spacious feel with soaring ceiling height. We met the owners going out one day and they are very friendly and helpful. If you are staying in Michigan City, Beachwalk Vacation Rentals is where you want to be. The pool, courts, and beach hut were great. And Honeysuckle Carriage is so close to Lake Michigan. Note: There is a fairly small but rather steep hill to walk up to unit. Bonus: your parking spot is always in the shade!

This was a very clean stay! Very new and close to the beach. Perfect size for the my family of 4. I would recommend getting a curtain for the window upstairs, as it gets insanely bright through that window so the whole loft is bright by 5 am.

Honeysuckle Carriage is beautiful - smart layout, beautiful decor, a lot of natural light & a nice balcony. \It is steps away from the boardwalk to the beach. The only downside is there is not a lake view from the unit but we knew that when we booked. Perfect for a long weekend stay!

Perfect location across the street from beach access and a short walk to Lake Kai and the pool area. Bathroom was big and kitchen efficient for our long weekend stay. Nice to have washer/dryer in unit. Worked for our family of four with two young boys (ages 6 and 2.) would be tight with bigger group. Could use bigger pot and better cutting board in kitchen. Hooks or more towel racks in bathroom would be helpful. Biggest downside for us was the light coming in the upper windows early in the morning which always wakes my kids up early. Since it’s a loft there’s no way to prevent the light.

The cottage was lovely and the convenience of the location was great. My only suggestions are the need for additional furniture, especially a real table and chairs, a larger coffee table, a table near the entry door for keys, etc. There was a real lack of surfaces to accommodate dining, games, laptops, etc.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Beachwalk in the Honeysuckle Cottage!! Our family of 5 (kids ages 9, 5, 3) fit comfortably in the space – my two oldest kids loved the loft area by the stairs as "their" space. The living area was spacious, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathroom was very nice and spacious as well. I totally underestimated how nice it was having a washer and dryer in the unit after a day at the beach! We also grilled out a handful of times too which was super nice. We briefly met the owner of the cottage and one of the neighbors, and everyone was so friendly. The location of Honeysuckle couldn't be better right across the street from the beach access and only a short walk to Lake Kai, the pool, and the kayak rental area. We took advantage of nearly everything the resort offered, including the Wednesday evening social gathering (omg food was SO. GOOD.). My entire family had an amazing time and the kids still rave about how much fun they had! We will definitely be back!!

This was our first family vacation with our 2 year old daughter and it was absolutely perfect. The laundry room off the bedroom loft was perfect for her pack-n-play, it had a solid door to shut for when she was sleeping to block out noise. We tried to eat in more often to avoid a toddler in a restaurant all day long. The only thing that I could see missing for someone that wants to cook a lot in the home is a basic can opener and some oven mits/pot holders. The location of this house was perfect in aspects of the beach and pool. It was extremely clean and very well decorated. There was also a high hair and baby gate which was a plus for us! I would definitely recommend staying here. If we ever make it back this will be where we come!

Unfortunately Washington Park was closed during our stay, but it didn’t stop us from having a great time. The rental was wonderful, the hosts were fantastic and we had everything we needed for a nice home away from home.
