This is an adorable cottage with beautifully thoughtful interior finishes, tucked away on a sweet little property. I felt a bit misled by the listing stating this is one bedroom, as I would consider it a studio space; the pictures did not show the futon as being only a few feet from the bed. We rented this for our family of four assuming that we'd have a bedroom and our kids would sleep in the common space on the futon, it ended up feeling rather cramped for all of us! However, it's not to say that this wouldn't be a splendid space for one person or a couple. The space would have been just perfect for my husband and I only. The majority of the windows are fixed and inoperable, but the Hosts were very responsive and kind enough to bring a fan to us quickly so we could have some airflow in the evening. The location is really convenient and just a short drive to great restaurants, and Ferndale is not far away- there's plenty to keep busy with in the area. The provided Guest Book included great recommendations from the Hosts as well. Again, this is a great space, I don't wish to poorly review it, however it just didn't work well for a family of four. Had I known it was a studio I would have looked for other options.

We needed a comfortable place to stay while joining a large group that was camping at nearby Pamplin Grove. Now in our 70’s, we are way past the age of sleeping on the ground, so this darling little cabin more than met our needs! And now, I know how to make French press coffee!!

The Humboldt Hideaway is a wonderful little cabin that my new husband and I just loved. Tons of privacy and super easy check in/out process. We will definitely come again if we come back to the Redwoods/Northern California!

It is a beautiful setting with an adorable cabin! I had no issue working every day; the internet was ideal! I definitely will be back! The location is fantastic! It feels like your out in the woods, but it's a 5-minute ride downtown.
