Although you have to take a ferry to go to the downtown but the beach is very clean and nice. The vide is very cozy and nice.

1. Boats only come every two hours or so back and fourth to Nha Trang. Last boat back to the island is 10pm. This makes it very hard to enjoy your time in Nha Trang. This is a huge factor as the island does not offer anything to do at night. 2. Lack of facilities, most facilities permanently closed excluding restaurant which is overpriced. 3. Customer service. Staff are unhelpful and don’t understand much English. 3. Water sports are over priced and only offer short amounts of time such as 15 minutes per activity.

This was such an amazing bunglaow with the best view. We had a few days here were we just relaxed and did lots of swimming. Half of the resort is closed due to pandemic and its a bit sad to see that its not at its usual full capacity.. BUT we absolutely loved having the privacy. The staff were super friendly, the food was nice, and abslolutely loved the swimming pool. Nice to have it all to ourselves for most of the time!

We didn't know when we booked that this was basically a resort island which not much else to do other than beachcombing, swimming and mud bath. But this was exactly what we wanted for a few days of chill, from doing so much travelling. Not really a negative really!!

the beach is clean. The environment is fresh with a lot of trees. Pool is clean and safe, appropriate with children. Good choice for family to spend time together.

Images and functionality doesn't compare. Everything seems nice, but nothing is working. Cold and slow showers, no poolbar, waiting 10 hours to get something fixed and must call three times and go to the reception before they woke up and did something about it. Coworker tried to cheat more money from us for a taxi, when they are the ones who should help us. We saw a dead fish in the tank, which they took to the kitchen and probably used because they only took that one for dinner. Pizza was a deepfreeze and food generally so bad that we got sick from it. We're really sorry that we choose this place and we do not think that it lives up to a 5 star hotel. Though it is great for taking influencer pictures.

Less accessible - To get to the ‘mainland’ where there are restos and bars u need to take a boat, that comes and go every 2h. Also the hotel just recently opened after covid, seem to need a bit of maintenance for some of the furniture etc

It's a naturally nice island. Nature and the beach is lovely but do not expect any luxury what so ever!

I am a frequent traveller to hotels and resorts all over the world - Hon Tam/Merperle Resort is by no means a five star resort. I would say a three star is more appropriate. Everything is run down, and the resort feels like "post Apocalypse" . The rooms are like a dodgy motel and the staff is the most unfriendly group of employees in Vietnam. Lifeguards will close the beach at 18.00 - on a resort, despite not being on duty during the day anyway. Food is super expensive and the selection is not that big. Four persons pay 100 USD for a meal, which is more than what most hotels cost in Vietnam. There is nowhere to buy water or snacks, apart from the one restaurant. If you buy their buffet, you are not allowed to sit at the same table as your family - "cause you can share food". Try to borrow broken plastic kayaks! The life guard will call security if you paddle more than 30 meters away along the beach. Birds are flying around inside the restaurant eating of everything and two of us got sick and vomited. The response from their staff was that we must have been outside the resort, since nobody got sick. This is impossible since the there only is one choice of food on the island... The called us liars and didn't even appologise for the inconvenience. Now we are tucked under a dunar in real five star hotell in Nha Trang at our own expense waiting for the vomiting to stop.

Due to the resort's cancellation, I understand that the new card on Booking.com must be updated to ensure my reservation is still valid. However, I was asked to pay cash because the visa card holder was not staying with me and they would return the money in the card at the same time I paid. Till now after 30 days and tried to contact the resort multiple times but the staff still not support and reply about my amount. They kept asking me to contact my bank and booking.com about the amount but it was they who charged us. I thought I would leave good feedback during my stay there. Sadly, this is the first time I have had to write disappointing feedback about their process.

I arrived at 12:15 from a flight and usually, that's not a big problem to check in cause I can't control flight times but they made me wait until 14:00 in scorching hot even if I'm sure that my room was empty. Then, as soon as I entered the room the pool was dirty. I needed to ask them to clean it which is not proper for a 5star resort. They cleaned it but I haven't used the pool cause the impression wasn't good. Also, OMG food in the restaurant was SO BAD they really need to do something about that. There is no room service for breakfast, which is disappointing cause I want to have a peaceful morning in my room if I choose a resort to stay at. Overall my stay was good but I can't say that this resort is 5-star.
