The historic house was amazingly charming in a perfect location to old town and within walking distance of the waterfront and wonderful eating establishments. Collin and Laurie were very responsive with every question we had. Highly recommend!

My family and I rented Collin and Laurie’s home for nearly a month, and we were very happy with our stay.
The home was well equipped with everything we needed, even for an extended stay, and the beds were comfortable. The house was also incredibly centrally located - we rarely had to take the car out of the very convient parking spot out back.
Collin and Laurie were also incredibly responsive and great hosts. Highly recommend!

We brought our family of 5 for a vacation and loved this property as our home base. The property was very clean and the layout was great for our needs. The home itself was lovely and we enjoyed having space for family movie nights after a long day of museum hopping!
It was wonderful to have a parking space, but we utilized the free Alexandria Trolley and Metro for our trips to downtown. The area itself is full of shops and fantastic restaurants, so there were plenty of family friendly food options for the kids.
Overall, this was a wonderful family trip made better by this lovely home. Thanks to the hosts for opening this gem to us!! We would definitely stay here again!

The property is in a great location for staying in Alexandria. One is able to walk to restaurants and old town Alexandria. The only drawback to the location is that it is located on a busy street.
The property owner/managers were very easy to communicate with, very helpful with additional information like parking and public transport and sincerely wanted to assist with our stay.
Also, the property is not really 3 separate bedrooms. There is a double bed in a small room off the master bedroom, but it is really only suitable for 2 children that can share a bed. Also, it is off the master so the occupants of the master must walk through it to exit.

Great location, walking distance to old town Alexandria. Super clean and well decorated with modern furnishings. Nice appliances in a well appointed kitchen. Beds were super comfy. Fast Wifi. Good water pressure and temperature. AC works great. Stairs to upper floor might be steep for those with mobility challenges, but otherwise OK.
Didn’t use the backyard, but the grill and outdoor table are nice.
A really nice stay in a great part of Alexandria.

We loved the house! It has been refurbished beautifully. Loved the cozy feel of the back den. The house is conveniently located to so many places including King St., the metro, Trader Joes, etc. The amazing fan drowned out the traffic noise in the front bedroom, keeping the room quiet and cool. We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you Collin and Laurie!

We really enjoyed our stay at Notley Shaw house. It is a beautiful, well decorated home very close to DC. Well equipped kitchen whicj we used often to eat ‘at home’ so we didn’t have to eat out every meal. Bonus of a grill in the backyard which we also used. Parking onsite was another plus along with nice washer/dryer and all the supplies you need. Only care point is to bring a sleeping mask as there is lots of light in the home. A great stay and would not hesitate to book again.

Loved this house in Alexandria. The location was accessible to everyplace we wanted to explore.
Very accommodating kitchen complete with cute coffee supplies. The owners were very responsive and communicative when needed.
Off street parking was helpful too. Our schedule didn't allow us to use the backyard but maybe the next time!

Our stay at the Notley Shaw House was wonderful. The house is so comfortable and has all the small extras that make a visit really easy and a great getaway. My friends and I loved the clean and cozy style and thoughtful design and felt so refreshed after spending time here. Our hosts were responsive and easy to communicate with. Having lived in Old Town Alexandria, I can attest to the house's unbeatable location - in walking distance to all the best Alexandria has to offer. We spent our evenings in DC and days and nights in Old Town and hanging out at the house. It was hard to leave, and we plan to come back!

We had a wonderful weekend at this house! It was in a perfect location for visiting Alexandria and Washington DC. Very close to many restaurants, bars, and shops in Old Town. The house was very clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable for 3 couples. We enjoyed the outdoor space in the backyard. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and made us feel very welcome! We would stay here again if in the area!!

We totally enjoyed our stay, suited our purpose perfectly. The house was exactly as advertised, very clean and owners were very responsive. Location to restaurants and shops was ideal for our group of five, perfect for getting to Metro for those who wanted to get into DC for sightseeing and easy access to highway to visit my daughter 20 mins away. We would definitely stay here again if we need the space. Thank you Collin and Laurie!
