I think it would be an option for a solo traveller with a very tight budget who needs the absolute minimum - it's a clean bed with it's own cold shower and toilet. The family seems nice. But not relaxing or enjoyable to stay here.

This is a very small room with no windows (basically a converted closet) with just enough room for a bed (the bunk bed shown in pictures). There is no desk or chair. There are a few shelves on the wall for clothes. The bathroom is barely big enough to stand in, with a toilet, tiny sink that leaks and a strange small triangle shaped shower with cold water only. The door to the bedroom does not lock. I could not even sit up straight on the bed to watch a movie because of the upper bunk The room is in a private apartment that is accessed from the street, then the bedroom is off the small living room. The front door is very difficult to find - not labeled in any way and no number outside. The location is behind the bus depot on a side street on the very edge of Quepos, and not the good side - 10-15 minutes walk from the ocean and 5-10 minutes to the bus terminal where the buses to San Jose and Manuel Antonio go. I stayed here for one night and I had to leave as it was too depressing to have a bed where I couldn't sit up straight in a room without windows, and I knew I wouldn't have a good week staying there. I moved to an Airbnb apartment for double the price with 2 large bedrooms, my own kitchen and large bathroom. I don't think the rate for this apartment is appropriate for the area. In addition be warned that the advertised "breakfast included" is actually $5 per day additional. Also be warned the host is likely to cancel your reservation once you arrive, so that she does not have to pay the website fees, and then she will ask you to pay in cash. I did pay her cash, actually a little more than the nightly fee, as I felt bad.
