Gorgeous property, conveniently located from the Atami Station and a 40 minute ride on the Shinkansen from Tokyo.

Super relaxing property, Atami is the perfect city to stay in a ryokan. The room was big and the view of the garden was beautiful. The outdoor bath was very relaxing.
The full course meals might be too much for people who are not used to Japanese dishes, I was not used to having a large portion of food for breakfast and they were kind enough to accommodate to simply have a salad and fruits.

We loved everything about it. Super comfortable and accomodating staff. The outdoor onsen was phenomenal, the shared onsen was very clean and really relaxing. And being served food in the room was a fantastic experience and properly authentic.

I enjoyed the everything about my stay here. This is an exceptional Ryokan. The staff were excellent, the facilities were great, the food was delicious. The rooms here are very nicely designed down to the detail. A very relaxing room that makes you feel like you’re somewhere else, and not in the middle of Atami. A private onsen with a garden view was such a nice amenity.

Beautifully prepared and elegantly presented. Multitude of flavores and textures that kept my pallet interested. Tried dishes that I have not tried anywhere else. It was an amazing experience!

The staff was super helpful and friendly. The exterior of the building was preserved in a traditional style but the interior has been renovated and was bright and new. The room was also very spacious and clean.
The food was better than what i expected from the traditional japanese food. And they even have compliment non-alcohol drinks provided.
The view of the room could have been better. But consider the fact that it is built long time ago in the prime location; it is understandable.

The in room dining experience was amazing.

The private indoor bath is good for us as my family don’t quite use the the public onsen bath.

Spacious and clean room. Very comfortable big living area. The sliding doors separate the living spaces so that even if we wanted to use our private hot spring while the staff prepared our meals and futon we had full privacy. Very baby friendly and provided basic products and amenities for our baby. They even gave us a baby bouncer! We were able to leave our luggage prior to check in and even use their facility to feed and change our baby. The food was very fresh and delicious. The staff were professional. We had a very nice and comfortable stay!
Not so much about the property itself but Atami is quite a hilly area so be mindful that although it’s a short walk from the station some may find it a little more difficult on foot. Taxi was also an easy option for us.

The service was impeccable, the room was spacious and we got the room with the onsen which was such a treat. Would highly recommend spending a night in Atami.

The ryokan is tucked away behind some large hotels adjacent to one of the 7 natural springs of Atami. The room has a view of a small garden and is shielded from the buildings around it, providing a small haven with its outdoor bathing areas (both the private bath right outside the room and the public one). The water itself is splendid and we could feel its soothing effects straight away.
The room is very spacious. Beyond the two tatami rooms there is a western-like space with lounge chairs and a coffee table.
Both dinner and breakfast are kaiseki (multi-course), so expect them to take longer than simple meals. Both meals favor fish or seafood quite a lot. The meals are both served in the room. Overall it was a unique experience.
The service was impeccable as we always had spring water or hot tea available in the room. The host would also bring us fresh matcha on occasion, either before breakfast or when we came back to the hotel.
The room layout is such that a late/lazy morning is out of the question, which takes away some of the freedom of the guest. The futons need to make way for the breakfast table. Options for breakfast are 8 and 8:30, and staff will come in to put away the futons 30mins earlier. This was not such a big problem for us but it is something to keep in mind.

For those who like traditional washitsu (japanese room) and kaiseki ryori (traditional japanese cuisine), this is a must. There's so much nice food, it's almost impossible to eat it all and the arrangement is impeccable. The hotel also provides free minibar that is very well stacked with four, later five large beers every day. Service is absolutely amazing. Up till now, I saw such levels of courtesy and professionality only in the movies. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay.
