This is a great cabin to hold our annual family get together for Labor Day. The kids had fun paddling around in the kayaks and fishing off of the dock. The large decks and screened porches were wonderful spaces to relax and enjoy the scenery. The host, Stacy, was very responsive and made sure we enjoyed our time. Many wonderful memories were made!

Owners were extremely proactive in making sure we were well informed throughout our stay. Well furnished home that had plenty of areas for people to find their own space. The napping porch during a day full of rain showers was pure bliss.

Stacy and Mike's home was super comfortable, and had a vibe of hospitality and warmth. It felt like a lot of intention has gone into making this a beautiful place to chill and have fun. We enjoyed sunrise coffee on the expansive deck, kayaking on the river/lake walking the dog under the canopy of pines along the quiet road, grilling on the propane-lit charcoal grill, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, and swimming at Bluegill lake just a short drive up the road. (Thanks for the tip!) On a couple rainy days, we enjoyed the great game and book selection.

We had a group of 6 adults and 3 kids and all loved it! It was such a peaceful and relaxing location! Loved being able to sit on the deck with coffee, go out in the kayaks, feed the turtles, eat in the beautiful screened porch, and relax in the hammock, on the deck, or in the many sitting areas inside the house. Loved all the extra touches that made it feel like a home! And Stacy was so quick to answer any questions we had before and during our stay! Definitely would recommend!!

What an extraordinary place for a quiet family gathering. Lots of wonderful touches and amenities to make it a memorable experience. Enjoyed the clam and peaceful lake and gathering around the fire. Stacy is a wonderful host.

My family and I couldn’t be happier with our stay at the lodge. The house was amazing and the view and access to the lake couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed much time at the fire pit a loved the use of the kayaks. Finally, perhaps most appreciated, our hosts were always courteous and quick to answer any questions we had about the area. The binder of information they have prepared for their guests’ reference is beyond words. Overall, we rated this our favorite family vacation to date. Thank you so much!!

Reception was an issue, but that’s to be expected. If you rely heavily on Wi-Fi like we do, you need to bring an portable Wi-Fi hotspot. A couple of minor things here and there, but overall we really enjoyed our stay!

The owner was very helpful and kind during our stay! She informed me what to expect with the house and activities to do near by. We got a free coupon book that we used during our stay and got surprised with cinnamon rolls our second to last day! (Which was perfect because we didn’t plan a breakfast for the day we left). Every time I asked a question she answered it as soon and she could. I will definitely stay here again soon!

The description of the property is accurate and the house is in excellent condition. When I contacted the owner, Stacy, about the shortage of dishwasher pods, a new supply was delivered right away. Stacy was super helpful and always responded to my texts right away. Our family of 9 had plenty of room to spread out, and we especially enjoying the screened in dining area. We also really enjoyed the kayaks and we all paddled daily. We would absolutely come back to this property again.

The lake by the house wasn't for swimming but a fine lake (Bluegill) was only 5 miles away, we had lots of fun there. We've been on a number of family vacations, this home was by far the most relaxing, fun and lovely accommodations we've ever had! The screened in sitting porch was a favorite--surrounded by plants, two humming bird feeders plus a beautiful view of trees and sky!

Had a wonderful time at this great place on Hunter Lake. We were close to mountain biking, the lake and Hayward. The house was perfect for my family, my brother's family and my parents. Stacy (host) was super easy to work with and made our stay that much better with all her ideas and hospitality.

Our stay at Never Summer Lodge was the best house rental experience I have every had. The hosts communicated at all the important times and were very accommodating for a couple of our requests. The property has all you need for an escape in the wilderness. Cooking meals was like being at home but with a much better view. The kayaks were convenient and easy to get in and out of the water.

A very tranquil setting for the property. A smaller lake that is part of the Chippewa River system. Kayaks were provided with the property to explore the lake area, and fishing off of the dock was offered or use the dock for a boat. Given the drought situation this summer, the lake was a little bit low, but the kayaks were useful for exploring the lake. The home was located in a wooded area on the lake and it was a very quiet, peaceful area. The home accommodated our group of 8 without a problem. A cozy firepit area is provided for Smore's or just to relax, and a deck with two screen porches provided expansive views of the lake. The host was excellent with her communication with me, which I appreciated, and is an important requirement when I recent a property .

We really enjoyed our stay! House was very clean (thanks Penny!), had so many cute thoughtful touches, and activities for all! We enjoyed the kayaks, having campfires, cozy times in the activity area downstairs and quiet time on the napping porch. It was lovely..

What a beautiful place! We had a great time together.

This place will exceed your expectations. Everything was very clean with plenty of space for a family to spend quality time together. If you do plan on making your own meals, the kitchen is well equipped for all your needs. We hung out on the deck and dock quite a bit. The fire pit was delightful with plenty of wood and marshmallow sticks. Feeding the turtles on the dock in the evening was just a bonus. Bugs were not an issue during our stay. We played lots of bags, games and watched movies for a break from the heat. The only bummer for us was that we could not bring our boat since there is no public launch on Hunter Lake. Stacy was amazing to work with. She answered all my questions in a timely matter and was just kind. You will not be disappointed staying here as this place is surrounded with trees and wildlife for a peaceful getaway!

What a stunning home and location. We had such a great time. The space was wonderful, and so many details were just right - clearly a ton of thought has been put into making it a great space. As one example of dozens, there is a box of turtle food under one of the lovely Adirondack chairs on the dock with specific instructions on how you can feed the numerous painted turtles. So much fun! The host was so helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We’ve been renting a “family cabin” for the past 5 years. This has been our favorite one yet. The space and setting were incredible. Our favorite space was the screened porch with the large table. It was a great spot for meals and for game time! We had some kayaking first-timers and they were instantly hooked. What a great way to wind down at the end of the day. Stacy was helpful and friendly. We loved Never Summer Lodge!

We were beyond happy with our stay at Never Summer Lodge. This trip was beyond our expectations. Our entire family went, 3 babies under 6 months, a 3 year old and a 6 year old. We fed the turtles each evening (3 and 6 year olds favorite), kayaked, fished, sat on the swing over looking the lake, to a day trip to Lake Superior, shopped at the cute stores in Hayward, golfed (lots of golf), played bags, board games and just took time away from electronics to enjoy each other. The hosts are great, very easy to talk to, they go out of their way to make your stay special, right down to a delivery of fresh cinnamon rolls. The decor was beautiful and comfortable. Definitely with 5 stars. Thank you from our entire family.

Wonderful time with our family! Making and eating family meals together, tv time, foosball tournament and card games and LOTS of space to retreat to and regroup just to name a few things that we did. Unfortunately, we did not get to experience the fire pit to roast marshmallows....But bring the bug juice if you want to!!!! Awesome extra large deep bathtub for that relaxing soak (not exactly the same as the hot tub and not for everyone but)....kayak's were nice although not great for our fisherman. There were so many stimulating attributes at this property that entertained and soothed the 5 senses. We loved watching the hummingbirds feed, the artwork throughout the house, the detailed woodwork, the versatile foliage, and the surrounding wildlife, the heated bathroom floors just name a few things. The coloring book with the scrabble letters side by side and the singing bowl continually drew someone to doodle, create a message, or sound. If you love to cook, there are ample means to prepare your meal, oven, stovetop, microwave, or grill. Just bring the groceries. Or not....go out to eat. We chose to do most of our own meal preparations. This was a very comfortable retreat for our family. Thank you
