Having stayed at this property a few years ago, and very much enjoyed it then, was wondering how it would go with the recent new owners. The answer is that it was every bit as good. Well-stocked with amenities, the convenient location close to town, the information provided, open and abundant communication, all made a great stay. Little details- tissue boxes conveniently placed in most rooms, many lighting options in each room, showed that the owners really thought this through to make it super convenient to guests. Thought I'd mention one thing... the hot tub/sauna and seating area are great next to the river. But if you insist on distant mountain vistas, understand you are in a narrow canyon with tall hills on either side of the house. Still, mountain vistas are minutes away by car, and the quiet and convenient solitude and the murmur of the river make up for it. Very recommended!

Charming and comfortable cabin conveniently located near the interstate, with easy access to stores, restaurants and the great outdoors. The rushing water from the creek could easily be heard in the cabin when the windows were open. The cabin was beautifully furnished and had lovely sitting areas outside. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

We enjoyed this property so much 6 years ago that when we decided we needed a getaway this summer we immediately knew this is where we wanted to go again! It’s such a special place nestled into the trees and mountain! We especially love the sauna and hot tub right next to the creek. The new owners, Matt and Erin, were super accommodating and wonderful to deal with. They’re doing great things! Will definitely return!!!

Oh my gosh, this cabin is spectacular! It is meticulously clean, and Bruce and Annie were so welcoming with consistent check-in's, which we appreciated, especially since our Hubby's did not join us on this girl's trip. We went to a concert at Red Rocks, which was just a 35-minute drive from Idaho Springs. We also spent time in downtown Idaho Springs, which was such a cute little town. We enjoyed lounging and hanging out in the morning catching up with each other. We even thought we may ask our hubbies to join us next time. Such a great visit!! Thank you, Bruce and Annie, for being such FANTASTIC HOSTS!!

We had an amazing vacation. The cabin was perfect. We enjoyed having our morning coffee by the stream and relaxing in the hot tub after hiking. The location was convenient, just minutes away from Idaho Springs where there are shops and restaurants. The highlight was a concert at Red Rocks and thrilling hikes to the summits of Mt Bierstadt, Mt Evans (don't forget to sign up for a pass ahead of your visit), and Saint Mary's Glacier. And to top it off, the white water rafting adventure which was only 5 minutes away added an extra thrill to our trip. Highly recommend this place for a memorable getaway!

We stayed in this charming cabin with then intent of going on several day hikes and white water rafting. The location is fantastic. Very close to town but yet we felt very secluded. Love the setting. The owners were very responsive. The cabin is well equipped with everything we needed. We would recommend this place and hope to return someday.

It's a beautiful cabin and we had the pleasure of staying there twice. We enjoyed every second and even got to experience a nice snow fall. Can't wait to go back!

Really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Owners were great and the property as well. Made great meals in the kitchen, soaked in the hot tub after skiing and explored the creek area. It was a great vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay! This house and the area is very beautiful! Very friendly and helpful owner! Plenty of things in the house to enjoy the stay! Kitchen, laundry, towels, blankets, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, filtered water, etc! We loved the board games and movie nights! Jacuzzi and sauna were very convenient! I would definitely recommend this place and would like to.come back!

The house was amazing and in a great location. Very easy checkin process and the house had everything we needed for the days we were there.

This is a great place to stay to get away....but also not so away you can't run to get a quick bite to eat or a few groceries. This was our second time to stay here and loved it as much as the first. The owners are great to communicate with and make you feel very welcome. The extras they have...like hot tub and sauna are fun to use. Def one of our favorite places to stay!

My family and I absolutely enjoyed our time here! They had everything you needed. And so much to do for every age group. We plan on returning this spring to explore some more!

Great location for hiking, skiing and checking out quaint historic towns nearby! What we loved: Hosts Bruce and Annie were incredibly responsive, kind, welcoming and proactive. You can tell they really want their guests to have the best stay possible. Location! Absolutely perfect. 5 min to grocery store and downtown Idaho Springs, 12 min to Georgetown, less than 25 min to Loveland Ski area, 35 min to Lake Dillon and just under an hour from the airport. Super easy access to/from I-70. Perfect! Floor to ceiling windows were fabulous! The mountain going almost straight up…in the backyard! Wow! The stream just outside the front door…ahh, so lovely! Hot tub was clean and perfect under the pines next to the stream! The beds are comfier than our own (could use some fluffier pillows 🙂). Fully stocked with plenty of everything you could need and grocery store is closeby. We prepared most of our meals there (loved the fridge on top, freezer on bottom). Cozy fireplace with blower warmed the main living area and upstairs nicely (we used it every day). Washer and dryer were very handy. Plenty of firewood chopped and ready. We thought the deep well water straight from the tap was delicious! But a water cooler with bottled water is also provided. Some things to note: Sinks and showers take a bit to get warm and temp adjusted, just follow instructions in the binder. Eco-friendly on demand hot water is worth any inconvenience. Baseboard heaters don’t put out a lot of heat (temps dipped to single digits during our stay). But the additional electric heaters helped a lot in the bedrooms. Gas heater in main living area helped a lot. And the woodburning stove/fireplace was a saving grace! Kitchen cabinets are pretty high up, but a step stool is provided. We're fairly tall so wasn't a big problem, I just wanted to point that out to be helpful. The house is lived in, so don’t expect much dresser space for clothes. There is room to hang clothes in closets. We had a wonderful and memorable stay. Thank you Bruce and Annie!

This cabin is one of the nicest properties we’ve ever stayed in through Airbnb. Fully equipped in every way, and in a beautiful, private setting, still close to town. The house could not have been more helpful and more responsive. We highly recommend this property!

This property was perfect for a small extended family and a baby. Bruce was a great communicator prior to us checking in and throughout the stay- he really made us feel welcome. The house itself is so cozy and clean. We were here for Thanksgiving and had everything we needed to make our Thanksgiving dinner. The hot tub and sauna were also amazing and so relaxing by the river. Great house, would recommend!

Wonderful Colorado cabin located within an hour of many great CO towns. Cabin had everything we needed. Hosts were very responsive and could not be nicer

I truly can't say enough nice things about this property and the owners. An absolutely wonderful experience for us, celebrating my son's 21st birthday with 6 adult family members and 2 dogs. The location is so easy and quick to get to from Denver, close to a grocery store and downtown Idaho Springs for convenience, but with the amenities at the property- you'll never want to leave! Stunning forested lot with a river, hot tub, sauna, playground and views from inside the cabin are spectacular. You really feel like you're in a remote treehouse. Plenty of room to relax and all kitchen gear is provided, as well as games, tv's in every room, and a big open concept living space. I didn't want to leave. Bruce & Annie's text communication is plentiful and specific. Loved it and hope to return in future years. Many thanks for allowing the usage of your property!

Our group of 3 couples used the amazing Russell Cabin as our home base for three nights of rocky mountain fun. Two red rocks shows, hike up to the glacier, a meal in Idaho Springs, and just enjoying the creek. Not a stretch to say the best VRBO experience I've ever had. Bruce's communication is next level. Whole process was easy breezy and the cabin exceeded all expectations. And the beds are super comfy. Thanks so much Bruce and Annie...surely hope to be back!

A beautiful home in a beautiful setting. It was all the description says and more! Super comfy beds, relaxing atmosphere, clean, accommodating and attentive hosts. So much to do in the area. We didn't have children with us, but if we did the play area looked like it would provide a great time!

Bruce and Annie’s cabin was the perfect place for our family getaway. It had everything we needed and was so close to all activities and amazing hiking trails. My son even found some gold in the creek!! I would highly recommend their place. Thanks for opening your cabin to us.

We loved having the jacuzzi and sauna on the property as well. The sounds of the river running through the property lulled us to sleep each night in the comfortable beds!

Five star! Absolutely wonderful stay! Want to note that there is road noise but it mixes in with the sounds of the stream. That being said, we thoroughly loved our stay! Perfect for our family- teenagers included! Highlights were comfortable home, hot tub use, extremely comfortable beds, wonderful hosts, stream fun, fully equipped kitchen, close to larger grocery store, close to hiking; too many things to list! Hosts literally thought of every possible need and accommodation. We felt that we had been invited to be guests in someone’s loved home rather than just a typical vacation rental.

Our family rents a differant place in Colorado every year and this is definitely one of our favorites. The location is great with many things to do close by. The hot tub is amazing beside the the river and the house has everything necessary to make things comfortable. Bruce is great to deal with and made us feel so welcome. We hope to return next year.

This location was just what the doctor ordered and we enjoyed every moment The creek was so relaxing and the scenery made you feel lost in the woods! We loved how close we were to town, but yet seemed tucked away in the forest at the same time! Bruce was fantastic to work with and we will be back again

Fireside dreams come true! They supplied plenty of firewood, and I really enjoyed staying in and relaxing by the fire. Huge windows with views into surrounding trees and yard. Playground and hammock outside for those with kids. We enjoyed the hot tub on the creek, but I'm one that can soak for a long time so was disappointed that it had trouble staying hot (it was actively snowing). Once covered it would heat up again, but didn't stay hot long enough for me. We loved the sauna right next to hot tub for staying warm while drying off, very nice touch. The house is incredible- I loved the rustic feel. Had everything we needed. Kitchen was well stocked, nice appliances. We drove to Idaho Springs a couple times for food, it is really close. Also hiked to St Mary's Glacier, the trail is just a short drive further down the road. You can't tell from pictures, but there are neighboring houses and its just off the road- however it feels like a world away once you cross the wood footbridge.
