The pop-up bathplug was central in the bathtub making it impossible to lie in the bath. Also it drained very easily.

Part of our group stayed in another room and had a better experience (not difficult given the experience we had!). The property offers a convenient location for local hikes within a pretty, well-served village.

The toilet in our room did not function and still had the previous guest's urine in it. This was reported immediately and we were told that maintenance would come to fix it whilst we were out at dinner (we were also told that the guesthouse was fully booked so a change of room was not possible). The toilet was not fixed and there was no communication to make us aware of this. We were therefore left with no toilet for the entirety of our stay! Needless to say, it was an uncomfortable stay and we left before breakfast so that we could find somewhere with a toilet (and we didn't have a great amount of confidence in cleanliness based on the fact the toilet hadn't been cleaned between guests). Other issues include being given a room smaller than the one we had booked and paid for; not having sufficient parking at the property; only having one towel in the room; thin walls (I could hear our neighbour snoring!); windows which are at eye level and look out to a public garden. I raised these issues privately with the management team to give them the opportunity to respond and show goodwill. However they responded with a false version of events and by implying that not being given an alternative room was somehow our fault?!

The hotel was very cute, nice decor, lovely and warm. Very welcoming place to stay

When we arrived at around 7pm, we entered the room and it hadn’t been cleaned. The lady in reception was really lovely and got it sorted straight away however it was still disappointing. We were given a free bottle of wine to compensate however when we got the wine to the room, the bottle was already open so it didn’t help!

There were some minor defects in the room such as big tear in cushion and scratches on window frame which could be easily fixed. Lack of attention to detail it seems. ...burnt toast at breakfast

Breakfast was absolutely stunning. The fact we had such a large dog with us, and she too was made to feel so welcome was a huge bonus. Fantastic location, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Couldn't have done more for us! The room itself did the job, had everything we needed. Would love to visit again!!!!!

I would of liked to have had a information book in the room telling us times for breakfast, what's around to see. Also we saw online that there was a bar/ alcoholic drinks but we didn't know where to find that. But not a major problem at all.

Had to order breakfast and agreed 9.15. Had to wait 40 minutes for it to arrive despite prompting. When it finally arrived it was over cooked and cold. I would have sent it back but I was in a hurry by then. I would have expected toast but none was provided.

Perfect location, close to town center and to the lake. The place has the warmth welcoming of a cosy house and the staff is incredibly nice! I loved the look and feel of the common areas, even on a rainy day, ones wouldn’t mind just staying in, sitting in the lovely conservatory overlooking the garden, with a good book and a hot cup of tea. The whole place is also very clean, and one’s would never guess dogs are some of the guests there, as there’s no sign of loose fur and the place smells clean.
