Tolle Lage über Como mit phantastischem Blick auf den comer See

The apartment was wonderful. We are in Italy for 3 weeks and this was stop number 2, we stayed here for 3 nights. I booked it for my husbands birthday and it was perfect for the view. The location is good but as other reviews have said you need a car really. Whilst we did a couple of boats, because we had a car we were able to explore all around Lake Como and we were happy that we had chosen Cernobbio as our first Como base before heading north. Much better than staying in Como town itself. There is a bus stop outside which is good to get into town, but what we didn't know was the last bus of the day to get us back up the hill was before 7pm. And it's a 20 euro taxi ride for less than 10 minutes back from Cernobbio. Parking was okay, we found a space just 1 minute walk away. The apartment itself is lovely and modern and has been renovate d to a good standard. We enjoyed chilling out on the balcony and also in the living room. The host, Sabrina was very helpful. I had a lot of questions I think and she was very kind and got back to me with helpful information. The bathroom is also lovely, a fantastic view of the lake from the shower. A lovely touch. We would stay here again. Another lovely touch, on my partners birthday too, was having a view of a lovely firework display on the lake. There is a venue on the waterfront in Cernobbio which I think is popular as a wedding venue, and we were lucky to get a view of their fireworks which really made a lovely finale to the day.

The only reason I have not given it a 10/10 is because the apartment does not have a washing machine. I assumed self-catering came with a washing machine so my fault there. It might not impact most guests but because we are travelling around and our other stops have been hotels which charge a lot for laundry service, my plan had been to do some washing during our 3 night stay here. However, I believe there are plans to install one according to the host. My only other feedback is that the kitchen equipment was good but quite basic and it would benefit from some additional items, including offering more seasoning options such as herbs etc for people who choose to do some cooking during their stay. They supplied salt, pepper, olive oil and sugar. Some basil, oregano, garlic or onion powder would have been helpful as didn't really want to have to buy those things ourselves. A small detail but I hope this comment helps as useful feedback. We still loved the property and would recommend it. Thank you again to the host for being so friendly and helpful.

Our experience with the hosts was extremely disappointing. They were difficult to deal with, unaccommodating, and rude. We had agreed in advance on a slightly later check-out, yet while we were still packing, five minutes before the agreed time, the cleaner arrived. We politely asked for an additional ten minutes to finish packing and ensure the place was left in good condition. To our surprise, the hosts began threatening to report us, accusing us of refusing to leave and being uncollaborative. After we checked out, the cleaner seems to have misplaced some items while tidying up and sent photos to the hosts. The hosts then shared those photos, accusing us of being uncivilized leaving the apartment in poor condition, which was entirely untrue. The only thing we had not done was wash a two coffee mugs that left in the sink, otherwise, the place was tidy. It was very upsetting to receive rude and accusatory messages from the hosts over something so minor. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. I would not stay here again or recommend it to others.
