in the cottage "La Grange" located in Labastide-Villefranche.
An outbuilding of the "Domaine de Jasses": "La Grange" has been renovated in a spirit of recycled design, wood and waxed concrete.
Enjoy the "Thalasso" centre 10 minutes away, golf, white water sports (canoeing or kayaking) or fishing on the Gave d'Oloron, the equestrian centre, Basque, Béarnaise or Landes culture, nature, gastronomy, cultural walks. We leave tourist information available.
The cottage is adjoining another cottage: "Le Chai", but they are quite independent well separated by a large vegetation, with a different access, each with its private swimming pool of 4.50 m by 2.50 m and its private outdoor space (if your dates are no longer available for the cottage "La Grange" you can check the availability of the cottage "Le Chai" in Labastide-Villefranche).
Bed linen and towels provided.
The cottage is not suitable for people with reduced mobility (rooms upstairs).

We had a lovely time in this beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished gite, despite the wet weather we experienced. We loved the bamboo as house plants, the shelves in the bedroom secured by rope, and spacious bathroom with its massive sink and walk in shower. The house was clean, comfortable and had all that we required for our stay. The owners were helpful, pointing out a number of interesting places to visit whilst remaining unobtrusive.
The gite is about 2 km out of the village an set back from the (minor) road: it was therefore peaceful and quiet. There is a good boulangerie in the village, a range of shops in nearby towns such as Sallies-de-Béarn and Peyrehorade, and many local markets within a short drive (that at Salies is recommended). We love walking and there are many good routes from nearby towns, many with great views of the Pyrenees. The Office de Tourisme in Salies sells a very good book of 60 local walks which gave us a real chance to explore the Béarn des Gaves. Other highlights included a day at Cap Breton and a trip to the beautiful St Jean-Pied-de-Port, where we encountered pilgrims on the Chemin de St Jacques massing to cross the Pyrenees.
A lovely gite in a lovely part of the world. If the weather had been kinder we could have seen so much more - perhaps we will have to make a return visit.
