amazing breakfast freshly made each day, sassy funny host, and well equipped rooms with old feel but modern amenities(shower, light up dble mirror, tv, heating, etc truly a gem!

Excellent location in old Town Quebec with all sights within easy reach. Gerald was an excellent host and breakfasts were superb. We plan to return again for another stay.

Host was very nice, a bit eccentric, as many have said, very helpful and gave good tips to visit the city. The breakfast was very good, although the options were limited and, for the 2 days I stayed in, I got the same. The wifi was excellent, the room size gigantic, in a very quiet area, yet very near the city center, with a supermarket and a pharmacy nearby.

The steps to get to the upper floors, especially with heavy luggage, the place is starting to get a bit run down, and the host does not speak much English, which I noticed is typical in Quebec City, but still odd for those working in the tourism industry. Yet, none of it would prevent me of returning to L'Intendant.

Breakfast was great. Shower and towels were good but overall decor was sad. Considering what we paid for 2 nights stay, we feel that we didn’t get value for money.

Bedrooms and bathroom were fine but kitchen lacked in comfort. No easy chairs or sofa and only a basic table and chairs that were it very comfortable.

The location can’t be beat. It’s close to the bus/rail station, and you can walk to everywhere in the old town. The breakfast was fresh and fulfilling. The in-room jacuzzi was a nice add-on.

The place looks a bit dated, but that is kind of expected for a historic building. We also needed to haul our luggage up two steep and long flights as there’s no elevator.

Great host. Good location very short walk from bus and train station. Breakfast was exceptional. That is if you like fruit, crepes, croissants etc. Home made apple juice and jam as well.

It was so nice to feel like a guest in a B&B as opposed to a random customer in a large hotel. Our host was very welcoming and friendly, with a pleasant sense of humour. He was helpful and hospitable, and served a delicious breakfast each morning that was unique (at least for us) and tasty. The room was great too.

Breakfast is delicious - apple cider, freshly baked croissant and pain au chocolat, crepe with real maple syrup lots of fruit, and strawberry jam. I don’t drink coffee but the people I was travelling with said it was excellent. This is all served to you by the owner, who is quite a character.

My only complaint is the pillows are uncomfortable (too stiff) and the overhead light in he kitchenette is a bit too bright. Also, the street is quite noisy, which makes it difficult to sleep with the window open.

Excellent location for old Quebec City, plus great availability of parking. Lovely, if eccentric, owner whose tips for exploring were very good and who made sure we did not miss anything important. He is jokey in a slow, rather considered way (lots of taking the mickey by him and us) which some might take as rudeness but we found him delightful and very entertaining. The room was large and clean, with comfortable bed and if you have ever stayed at a hotel in France you might recognise the style of decoration! Excellent breakfast too!

The only real draw back was that our room was on the second floor and the steep steps were difficult if you have heavy luggage (as we did).

Great location. Suite was large. Place was a bit old but the accommodations were largely clean.

Same sugary breakfast every day. The owner became unreasonable, angry and rude within 15 minutes of arrival. Other guests also complained to him directly for being rude. But he was eventually helpful throughout the stay. Also, you might want to finish everything from breakfast lest you upset the owner. No kidding!
