Breakfast was amazing and will be something we try to reproduce at home. The room sizes are cozy, not large, but this is a tug boat! Mattresses were great. The experience was especially memorable because we were able to take advantage of being there for the Moroccan dinner (not offered every night). Truly a highlight of our week-long trip to Vancouver Island. We will talk and reminisce about this experience long into the future.
Our cozy cabin grew a little sruffy on the warm night we were there (we were at sea level despite being in the middle of Vancouver Island), but our cabin had a small fan that would have aided in some cross ventilation had we remembered to turn it on.

Right in the heart of the action. A very comfortable bed and kind & flexible owners.

My husband and I stayed two nights on the floating inn while visiting our friends in Port Alberni. It was out of curiosity that I booked this floating B&B. What a uniquely awesome experience we had! Daniel and Bouchra are caring friendly hosts who are passionate about what they do. Bouchra even accommodated our request to make dinner for us and our 3 local friends on her otherwise off day! She explained all the ingredients and spices she used on her delicious and healthy dishes, she truly cooked with her heart. The room was small but the beds were comfortable. Swept Away Inn is a hidden gem, we will for sure return again.

The hosts were extremely nice, personable, and hospitable, made you feel well taken care of. The B&B&B (Bed & Breakfast & Boat) was very cool, a unique experience with both world history or personal passion built into it. Gem of Port Alberni for sure; highly recommend for a stay or dining.
Nothing to dislike - there is the reality of it being a converted tugboat, so the sleeping and living spaces are relatively small.

Location was excellent and our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel like we were welcome. Breakfast was included and was a great way to start the day. Unique lodging on a former tugboat moored at Alberni Harbour Quay.

If you like ships and the sea, this is a must to go place. Very special. The hosts are very kind and make you feel very welcomed. Very good and freshly cooked breakfast. Even though it´s not a bargain, compared to the prices in Tofino it´s still very good value for money and you can easy go for and back to the coast on the same day. Don´t expect the sapce of a 5star hotel, it´s a ship ;-).....

This property was unique! How often do you get to stay on a 1940s tugboat which was used as a minesweeper during World War 2!
we lived everything!

The view
Room described as a double with private bathroom, actually a room with bunk beds bathroom across the corridor. Breakfast one fried egg on toast, no choice. Access very precarious and verging on dangerous. No access to tea or coffee making facilities. Overall very disappointing

Staff was good and food was excellent.
Was not told you cannot bring alcohol on the boat. Was not told about automatic 15% gratuity on the room and the booze. Was not told and was not written anywhere you had to be IN BED by a certain time (1130pm) I felt like a child. Extremely nice people but for the cost and all the hidden disappointments I was not happy.

Breakfast was good - just veggie hash and one egg, with coffee.
Hosts Daniel and Bouchra were nice, yet not nearly as described in many previous review. Daniel had a friend visit him, bring beer, and they SMOKED cigars on the back deck (on a NON-smoking boat). We were less than 10 feet away and no consideration given for us 4 non-smokers.
The back main deck was crowded with chairs and made it difficult to sit or pull out a chair. The floor was dirty with grit, floor sweepings piled up and just dirty. Seemed like a storage area! The upper deck had minimal seating and was not laid out for socializing. The front bow of the boat was used as a garbage/storage/recycling area with lots of garbage bags. The starboard side of the main deck was just a mess with garbage pails, rags, brooms and debris.
On Bookings.com, it does not mention that you are not allowed to bring on your own alcohol. I got on board and within a few minutes I learned that we could not bring any alcohol on board, that there was a cash bar only. That breakfast did not contain any meat, had one egg, but was otherwise only just a mixed hash of sweet potato, onion and sun dried tomatoes... no juice, just coffee offered.
Our room, a top and bottom bunk, was clean and cosy. The bathroom was tiny, and the shower smelled of damp and mildew (thankfully I could not see any). My parents had the double room (upstairs) and due to the small space, used the tiny parlour area on the top deck for their small carry luggage.
I knew we were going to a quaint (tiny space) tug boat. So the room sizes were acceptable. What was so disappointing was the ambiance. Daniel explained that due to Covid, they were going out of business.... and wow did it show in their lack of energy for our staying with them and their lack of socializing with us. Almost all of the good comments on this website were about how great a host Daniel and Bouchra were.... well not anymore! They were very social when their friend visited, but only to him.
Never did get the wifi password!

Location, the hosts, my cosy cabin, very comfortable bunk and my lovely breakfast eggs.
Nothing, but given this is a converted tug the cabin was understandably small and would have been a tight fit for two. Or maybe I should learn to travel with less things.
