Proximity to where we wanted to go.
No in-hotel food, paying extra for parking which wasn't included in the write-up.

Quiet. Clean bathroom comfortable bed
Dated furniture and tv’s in suite

Beautiful building and amazing location within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly as well. The room and bathroom were a good size and very clean.
The noise in the hallway felt like it was in our room. There were loud guests and slamming doors into the late night. The bed was warn and I kept rolling to one side because it was so sunk in on one side. The TV also did not work. A friend and I were away for just the day and wanted a nice evening with no kids and went to watch a movie and the TV kept glitching and restarting every 30-60 seconds so we weren't able to use it.

Parking is very limited and cost over $20 a day. Hotel had only one server and three menus for the whole room. Need more help to accommodate this many guest.

Location, lots of good shopping!
Bar hours and remodeling.

Clean, nice hotel maids, updated.
Front desk staff was incredibly disorganized. They overbooked my room after I had called for months to confirm and get my rooms next to each other. They were so unprofessional and disorganized. Management was basically non-existent and impossible to reach in person or by phone.

Location was perfect for our visit
Light out in shower that couldn’t be fixed while we were there.
In-house phone for location of ice machine involved reference to 800 number
Lamp shade falling apart and not able to cover the floor lamp. It’s been that way for quite some time.
Staff response to everything else was mediocre. I don’t thinK they like working there.
THE BIGGEST ISSUE: CARPET WAS SO DIRTY THAT WALKING BAREFOOT SHOWED DIRT !!! WHEN WALKING INTO BATHROOM WITH SLIGHTLY WET FLOOR.
Lobby furniture and arrangement needs a designer touch. No welcome vibe when walking in front door. Hodge pudge.

The location in the Plaza was great.
The service was poor. I asked the front desk to have our room cleaned on day3. I was told no problem. When returned from a long day house keeping just dropped new towels on our unmade bed and didn’t clean bathroom, pick up used towels on the floor or make our beds. The next day we saw a housekeeper in the hallway and went to ask her to clean our room on her rounds. She didn’t speak any English…..

Location was very convenient, room was clean and staff friendly.
The outlet in bathroom was not functional. It was very lose sp when plugging in blow dryer it did not make connection. So we had to use other outlet in the room, fixing our hair without mirror. I did let the front desk attendant know this was not functional when I checked out.

The location of this property was great! Right at the top of country club plaza and within a short walk to the Kansas City Art Institute where I was dropping off my daughter for the summer. My first night in Kansas City I had a very bad experience at another hotel in town so it was a welcome relief to find this property on Booking.com and come to a beautiful historic builing, with comfy beds and and close to restaurants. (*pic is the milk closets that are a historical part of the property)
My only complaint would be that no one emptied my trash during my stay but I was only there two nights so it wasn't a huge issue.

The location
The place was supposed to be remodeled. I didn’t see any changes from my last visit in 2022. The key cards didn’t work and parking lot was full of cars and not enough spaces for all guests.

Loved being in a beautiful historical building. The "milkman doors" were so interesting. It was fun to explore the building. Morning coffee was appreciated!

The beds were extremely comfortable including the pillows
Paid parking was unsecured...store prices were outrageous and there was only one trashcan in the room the size of a gallon of paint...

location - the Plaza is a couple blocks away and easily walked to
the lock on our door didn’t work, parking was behind the hotel and not secure, there was no phone in the room to contact the front desk. There was a restaurant on site but we were not informed they only opened for breakfast

breakfast was great. they allowed us to adjust our selection to meet some dietary restrictions we have. super friendly & helpful. this is just across the street from a city park with one of the most beautiful fountains in the city. one block off the square with shops & architecture that we enjoyed as well.

Hotel was perfect. However, they do not offer any packages that include breakfast even though Booking.com offered those packages. We were not charged for the breakfast in our final bill.
Parking was a separate fee.
