The Heritage Inn

Very clean! Location was in the middle of a lot of restaurants and location to the beach perfect.

We are older and booked the 3 rd floor so taking our luggage upstairs was a bit too much. Younger folks will have no trouble. No USB ports, forgot a plug in wall charger. These are very minor inconveniences.

VERY CLEAN. Perfect for me and my daughters. Housekeeping was always attentive. Management was amazing. We had a situation, my daughter left something behind and I was contacted… very very grateful to housekeeping and Tyler!! Thank you so much! I highly recommend Heritage Inn. Cape May is our favorite vacation destination.

Bathroom was sparkling clean

Room decor is dated.

Pros: The hotel is centrally located in Cape May's historic district and is directly across the street from the beach, which was really nice & enjoyable. There are a lot of restaurants and activities in the area. The location is very walkable. There is an outdoor shower to wash off when you come from the beach and a clothesline, if needed. The breezeway king and the double queen rooms were comfortable and an ample size. The bathroom is ok size with a shower, no tub. There is a little kitchenette area - small fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee maker and sink. One parking spot per room included. There is a rooftop sundeck, which is also great for looking at the moon at night. We observed the lunar eclipse.

Cons: The hotel is lower quality for the price. The rooms had a damp, musty, mildewy smell. The fan in the bathrooms did not work, so the steam did not vent. Any wet items, such as bathing suits, had to be left outside to dry. The shower has a curtain so it would sway and stick to you, making it a little difficult to bathe. There is visible mold around the AC vent due to trapped moisture. The bedspread felt damp and uncomfortable, while the towels and extra blanket were rough. The double queen room had only 1 extra blanket for 2 beds. The pool is small - only good for 4 people at a time. The outlets were sometimes not the most accessible (behind the bed), non-functioning, or had the outlet plate partially hanging off. By about midnight, all lights outside the rooms in the hallway turn off - if you're getting back late, make sure to have a flashlight or phone's flashlight.
