Couldn't have been happier!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cottage is in a quiet marshland which has expanded since the Herring River tidal restoration project. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that we had stayed in the cottage next door a decade ago. This area is replete with history of the writers and artists who also serenity and each other's companionship. I would return, if it were possible for my husband to negotiate the sloping terrain and staircases up to and inside the cottage.

Not only is it aptly named (quiet & private), but you're immersed in nature here with beautiful sunrises,lots of wildlife, and, to my surprise, sweet, clean air drifting in the windows all day and night... I had expected a boggy smell given the surroundings. I had also expected lots of mosquitos, but only got one bite the entire week. The house is really charming with clean and comfortable furniture (that king bed was so comfy!) and everything you'd need for a week's stay. Can't wait to go back!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We secured this rental last winter when COVID infections were spreading rapidly, in the hopes that we would be far from the hustle and bustle of town and crowds. The location of this house did not disappoint in that regard--it is very private, woodsy, and peaceful. But the mosquitos were so bad, we could not enjoy the outdoor spaces or the outdoor shower. We were also not able to walk to the beach because the mosquitos were relentless, even after covering every inch of our skin and spraying ourselves down with mosquito repellent. The house itself is rustic and unique, but very dusty. Upon our arrival, the bath mats in the shower/toilet area clearly had not been laundered, and the mirror above the bathroom sink had not been cleaned after the last guests. We felt the need to do some cleaning and wiping down of some surfaces before settling in. As expected, being in the woods, the house has lots of spiders and insect inhabitants, but many of the screens are also old and have large holes and gaps to allow them in. The house is advertised as having two bathrooms, but it only has one (unless the outdoor shower is considered a bathroom). The property management company was great and even called to check on us after the remnants of Hurricane Ida came through. (The house held up great with all the rain, by the way.)
