Staff friendly and service good. But the central buffet area was not regularly inspected to ensure plates, plenty of spoons, food replenished. It really needed a supervisor to ensure that hygiene was maintained and all areas were properly serviced.

Not sure that hygiene standards in the food area were being maintained. For example, spoons falling into cereal and fruit containers etc.

Fantastic hotel, lovely places to sit and enjoy the views of the hotel, rather steep walk to hotel but worth the view. Lovely breakfast, dinner was poor.

The evening meal was very poor.

Beautiful hotel and location. The driveway is fine and not too narrow. Great parking. Easy go get into Fowey and the hotel has an outstanding view of the harbour, especially during regatta with the fireworks. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel so I cannot comment. Pool tables and table tennis. Lovely rooms and verandas to have a drink on. The Spa is pricey but very relaxing and a lovely addition to your stay. Staff very friendly, chatty and helpful. Breakfast staff lovely too.

The rooms are being mis-sold! We paid for the Studio Sea View suite and were given the room that is shown in the pictures for the Deluxe Room, NOT the premium room that is the Studio Sea View Suite!!! The room is sold as being in a separate building, with a lovely view and private balcony with seating. You DO NOT get this! Please see the pictures of our "Sea View" - which you'll see is just a view of the pool! When I questioned the staff about the view, they said its an estuary view but you can see from the pics that isn't true. You also had pool users looking through your windows constantly, no privacy whatsoever. Cannot be naked in your room because of people watching you! Wifi did not reach our room either so we had no Internet when in the room. At £2035 for 3 nights (~£690 a night!) It is not okay to show pictures of a balcony with seating, a walk in waterfall shower etc etc and then the room in reality is the room from the pictures that costs only £250 per night!! Also NO telephone so you cannot use room service. No outdoor seating. No walk in shower. Nowhere to do makeup because there is no mirror that can be used with a dressing chair and table. Breakfast is unlimited continental (perfect, lovely pastries and cereal etc) which is great but the hot food, the full English, is terrible. 1 Sausage and 1 Bacon!! Just one! Microwaved beans, half a mushroom. Not worth the cost. Go into Fowey for breakfast from a lovely little cafe instead. Overall we loved staying here, we made use of the spa and the pool, both lovely, but e cannot justify paying 690 pounds a night when you advertise with lovely pictures and actually use rooms that are much cheaper.

Nothing to note here. The only thing I would like to mention but by all means not a negative comment is it is a bit of a steep walk (return in particular) to/from hotel to Fowey harbour, which is not for the faint hearted! However, there are benches to take a pit stop along the way! Along, with handrails enroute if you need them.

Everything was clean, staff were exceptionally helpful.

Service at breakfast was quite good however a bit slow sometimes. No tomatoes was disappointing reason given wastage but when you saw what people leave was amazing.It is a normal thing to leave half of what had been ordered!

Lovely location. Room was beautiful and the place was very clean. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Reception staff were very welcoming.

The hotel was luxurious and relaxing and the staff were excellent; they were all very pleasant and attentive. This is really important to us in deciding we would return here. The family facilities were great, but you can equally stay as a couple (as we did) and enjoy the special ambience and delicious food.

We booked the classic double with sea view; the room was quite a bit smaller than we expected, although the bathroom was good.

It was a slight let down with the constructions going on at the hotel, but it was made aware prior to our booking. there was a bread roll under the food serving counter during the evening meal, which was still there the following morning, during the breakfast service.

The room was excellent.

The cooked breakfast wasn’t very good. My wife and I were fractionally irritated by the Wi-Fi code constantly changing.

Fabulous location overlooking Fowey, just the right distance away from the town. Beautiful, well maintained property in lovely surroundings. I was given a fabulous, complimentary upgrade on the room that I had originally booked which was a lovely surprise. A welcome pack was left for my small dog and also bowls, bed and a blanket were provided for her during her stay Bottled water and fresh milk were provided in a fridge Good quality bedding I was made aware of the extensive building works taking place on the hotel before my visit via an email and also I had read some of the reviews before deciding to book my room. This was not a problem to me as I was going to be out all day so wouldn't be disturbed by the noise. The site manager even assisted me with my luggage on the day that I left the hotel and took it up the steps to the adjacent public carpark, which was extremely helpful.

During my stay with my small, very well behaved dog I was placed in what was known as the bar area to have my evening meal and breakfast, which I knew about when making my booking. What I wasn't made aware of was that it was a room directly inside the front door of the hotel which was in constant use from staff attending to customers in the outside dining pods and guests coming and going throughout the time that I was sat there trying to enjoy my meal. It was a wet and windy evening with a constant stream of guests and staff using it, which caused a draft coming from the door that didn't shut properly every time someone went through it. A male guest who was having a Pre-dinner drink did get up and close the door a couple of times but then decided it was better to move from the constant traffic going through that area instead of being cold. I thought that the evening menu had a good selection of offerings but was very expensive for what was actually delivered on the plate. Extras such as vegetables were priced at £5.00 each The menu I was given at breakfast didn't list that there was any toast, cereals, fruit, pastries available to me and the waitress didn't make me aware that these things were available to me upon request. Perhaps these things were available in the main restaurant where breakfast was being served, but were not made available to guests having breakfast in the bar area of the hotel. In my opinion the 2 rashers of streaky bacon on my plate were overcooked, the rest of the Cornish Cooked Breakfast was ok. The Heinz Tomato Ketchup bottle and HP Brown Sauce Bottle both had dirty, dried sauce residue around the neck area and under the lids of each bottle, very off putting.
