Esta es nuestra casa y comunidad soñadas. Estamos literalmente a una cuadra de la ciudad y sorprendentemente aislados en una sección poco conocida de Sherman Avenue.

El espacio es abierto, aireado y parcialmente sub-terreno. La habitación, naturalmente, mantiene una temperatura fresca y uniforme. A pesar de que se encuentra en la ladera, está elevado desde la carretera, lo que le da una mejor vista y sensación de privacidad.

A Jon le encanta kite, windsurf, bicicleta de carretera, bicicleta de montaña, caminata, bicicleta de tierra, motos de nieve, snowboard, esquí alpino, esquí de fondo, raquetas de nieve, SUP y kayak.
Nancy está aprendiendo a hacer kite, hace yoga todos los días, bicicletas de carretera, caminatas, esquís de fondo, raquetas de nieve, kayak y SUP.

It really was a nice space, besides the fact that we always sleep with a window open, and this space only had the glass front door, and one small window that was filled with an AC unit. Nothing we could open for fresh air at night! And barely any natural light, if we wanted the door curtains closed for privacy (doors open onto the road, so we generally needed them closed).
The first night we slept with the very loud AC on, as well as a terribly loud ceiling fan. It was pretty awful for both of us, noise wise. The last two nights, we figured out how to put the AC unit on fan-only, which was more tolerable for sleeping, and skipped the ceiling fan altogether.
The little mini-fridge had a basically unusable freezer; it was so overcrusted with ice I could barely fit an ice pack from my cooler in there.
Two people could hardly share the tiny shower as well. We could also hear every time the owner in the unit above flushed the toilet, or when their phone rang, etc. It was a bit surprising to feel that intimate with them.
Other than that, the stay was great. The building itself is very beautiful, the space was clean and had everything we needed. We met the owner the first day and he was friendly and nice.

We were in town for a wedding and had a great stay! After exploring the surrounding areas, we quickly realized we were staying in the best location. Close to hiking trails, shops, restaurants, and the Fruit Loop! Had a nice, big breakfast at Bette’s :)

Perfect location, we never used the car while in town. Check in was easy and the hosts were nice and had great recommendations for hikes and activities.

We had a wedding in White Salmon this fall - just across the river from Hood River. The town is super fun. There are a lot of great restaurants and outdoor activities in the area - and this property is a short walk to the center of town! It was a great location.
The hosts were friendly and available if we needed them. The property was clean. The shower had great water pressure. The bed was comfortable. I highly recommend this property and Hood River!
Just as an aside, the location is uphill from the center of town. We didn’t mind the hike up hill, but thought I’d share!

This is a great place for the solo traveler or couple. With a king-size bed and full bathroom, this charming unit is very comfortable. The location can't be beat with all of downtown Hood River at your doorstep!

These accommodations were a fun place to be for several days. Easy walking distance into town and restaurants. The unit was very clean and well appointed. The owners were very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

The place was an excellent location for our Columbia Gorge, River and Hood River getaway. We walked to breakfast every morning, down to the event site, shopping and to dinner and drinks often - very convenient! The space was very comfortable for the two of us and we found it perfectly appointed for our stay. It was very clean and we didn't feel it lacked anything. The parking spot is a great perk as we traveled the area with our rental car often! The hosts are incredibly responsive and happy to share their knowledge and love for the gorge area - their hospitality is off the chart. They are wonderful, kind people!

Location, Comfort, Friendly
Outstanding...the absolute perfect location to walk literally everywhere in the downtown area and even the waterfront for coffee, bakery, dining, winery/ciders/bar/brewery/distillery, restaurants. Jon and Nancy provided input on hikes and places to go/see and were friendly and accommodating. Literally 30 seconds drive to Hwy 35 for the "fruit loop" and to head to Mt. Hood or a half block walk up Sherman Street to the set of city stairs down one block that allows you to walk anywhere within minutes. If you had to drive to other parts of town it is 5 to 8 minutes to the Heights and/or West Hood River.

For anyone loving downtown Hood River this place is great. It’s a very short walk to downtown with many excellent food options. Activities are abound. Parking and access to the house is great. Plus, Jon and Nancy are outstanding and knowledgeable hosts.

Our stay at Nancy and Jon's was great! They were enjoyable and interesting hosts and responded quickly to any questions we had. The location was close the main street and an easy walk down to the waterfront as well. We enjoyed a few good hikes and walking/dining in town. We would love to return to their beautiful studio sometime!

super clean and easy
The check in process was easy and we were always in communication with the owners. Clean and comfortable bed with a , nespresso machine(with pods) very nice touch. They reserved a parking spot conveniently right out front! Perfect for 2 people

Nancy and Jon were great hosts. They gave us really good recommendations for wineries, hikes and restaurants. The location can’t be beat. It is a block from the down town area. Easy parking. The accommodations were wonderful, clean and everything that we needed. The outdoor seating was great for breakfast and drinking coffee from the primo Nespresso maker.

Nice Place to stay that is really well located
I was the first guest to stay in Jon & Nancy's brand new apartment. They are great hosts and made sure there was coffee and homemade muffins to welcome me. The unit is a studio so not really well suited for anyone with kids (unless they're super young & not yet crawling) or more than 2 people. The location is ideal - just up the steps from town. There's a large area in back to store your kiting/biking/whatever gear & street parking was right in front of the unit (when facing the house it is in the lower left corner). 5 star review for location & hosts.
