Breakfast is included each morning beginning with fresh fruit and excellent coffee. This is followed with a choice of either tipical or continental dish prepared to order. The food is delicious and a great start to the day.

Laura is a brilliant host and the location is stunning. She’s has created a little slice of heaven up on the top of a mountain. Yes you will def need a 4x4 and the roads are very ‘Costa rican’ but what awaits is truly worth it. The food - from breakfast to the dinner options were really nice. Laura went out of her way to help us with her onward travel and we can’t thank her enough. There is also 3 lovely friendly dogs, 2 cats and a pig called Brad Pig. What more could you really ask for…

The view of the Pacific was amazing. The restaurant was great. The pool was very nice.

The grounds and the setting are incredibly beautiful! Our room had a spectacular view, and the staff are simply the best. The owner gave us great recommendations for activities and restaurants.

The road to the hotel is a little rough and steep in places. We were able to manage with a 2WD SUV but barely. You will need 4WD to comfortably exit the hotel as the entrance is on a steep hill.

Peace and love :) The bar acts like a mini social hub for the local expats and serves excellent wines! The owner and all of the employees are just SUPER nice <3 And the view... ahhhhh :) It's just perfect from every part of the property! You can read in the reviews that a 4x4 is an absolute must for this place, well we easily did it with a normal stick shift (2-wheel drive). It is definitely a dirtroad and it is steep as well, but it's doable. No need to pay extra bucks for a 4x4 at the rental counter.

I was very happy with the accommodations especially with it being last minute. I arrived after dark and awoke to the most amazing view of the ocean and surroundings. I took one of the longest and most enjoyable showers of my life while soaking in the beautiful ocean view. The staff was so friendly and breakfast was tasty and filling in a peaceful relaxed setting. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the lovely pool. If you are looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of town this is the place. Even the drive down the mountain when leaving had breathtaking views. I totally enjoyed my stay and hope to return.

I loved the hotel! it was amazing, the view was gorgeous, the room was super clean and spacious, the bathroom as well. The girls from the restaurant were so agreeable and the food delicious. definitely need a 4x4. and loved the fact that I could go there with my dog :) highly recommend staying here

The view is amazing, full of nature and beautiful sunrise!! The food is really good :). The chef prepared a special dinner for us and he even made a homemade birthday cake! Laura and her staff are super friendly and helpful!!! The Hotel is beautiful

This beautiful boutique hotel was the highlight of our stay in The Playa Carrillo area. This family run boutique hotel is an unbelievable experience. We cannot wait to come back here! Breakfast was wonderful, so was the pool and the bungalow. Best place I’ve booked for the money in a long time.

This is just perfect. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive. You can access the hotel with 2-wheel drive. But you’ll end up ripping up the owners road and causing more wear and tear then necessary.

We absolutely loved everything about Peace and Lodge. The location and view are gorgeous. It is extremely peaceful. The pool and bar area are spot on and designed with excellent taste. We also enjoyed all the animals there, from Brad Pigg to the cat and dogs team. The rooms are nice and cosy and being able to see the ocean when opening your eyes in the morning is priceless. The staff is always willing to go the extra mile and make you feel happy and relaxed. Kudos to Laura and team for making this place unique. We will always cherish the memories of our stay. The view is spectacular and the rooms are spacious and well distanced. The local staff are really lovely.

There is dog poo all over the lawn. The owner seems nice but doesn't reply to messages or calls, and apparently "doesn't do mornings" so you're on your own if you need anything before 11am. It's quite a ridiculous road to get up to the lodge - really hard even in a 4x4 - and it's not particularly close to the beach. The pool is nice and again, the views are great, but it's extremely chlorinated and cloudy. I was really quite baffled at how it had achieved such high reviews.

It had a beautiful setting, tastefully decorated and serene. Food was delicious!

Nothing except that the extra cot for our daughter was very squeaky.

A great view, excellent food, very clean, refreshing pool that was surprisingly cool on hot days, love the animals, especially Brad Pig! Love the hanging chair by the pool, very relaxing. Laura is an excellent hostess, very warm, friendly and fun to talk to.

The barn door to the room was difficult to open sometimes, but not a big deal. It would be nice to have more comfortable outdoor furniture on my patio.
