We had some family up for our 50 th anniversary and all had a great time. Fire pit is in a perfect location and the yard quite large. The location is great with plenty to do in all directions!

Me, my husband, adult kids and sister in law stayed here for 4 nights and had a terrific time. Everything was perfect - the location, accommodations and especially the beautiful lake with private dock and small sandy beach. We were all happily surprised how well stocked the house was. You only need to bring clothes and food. We used the row boat, kayaks and fishing gear. There was even a goody bag for us. Any time I reached out to owners I quickly got a response back. We had a small emergency before we left for our trip and the owners were so kind and understanding by accommodating our special request. The home was immaculate too. Do not hesitate to rent this place!! You will love it.

This is truly an outstanding property on Platte Lake! We have stayed at many different properties over 40+ years, and this rates as good as we’ve had.
The owners were responsive, the house was perfect for our family- 6 adults and 5 little ones- 7-11 yrs old
The house size, deck, back yard, beach, and dock all fit our needs to make it a wonderful vacation- we’ll be back!

We caught a bunch of bass and perch from the dock, we were super close to a lot of great Lake Michigan beaches, and for floating down the Platte river.

We had an awesome week at "What' cha Dune"!!! From the minute we walked in the door and were greeted by a sweet "Welcome gift bag" the accommodations were endless!!! we have stayed many places on Platte Lake for the last 25 years, so I am used to packing up on house hold items that are never provided by the Renters for our week, BUT this Rental has been the BEST we have experienced! So gracious with sharing everything we need to have fun on the beach & lake, and the kitchen & Bedrooms were awesome!! Cant say enough good things! WE WILL BE BACK!! :)

This is a wonderful property. Perfect location on the lake with all the necessary amenities. It is quite spacious and comfortable with something for everyone. The owners were terrific to work with and always responded quickly to any questions. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation time which ended all too soon.

Best stay ever
This property and experience was the best we have ever had. We have been coming to Big Platte for over 30 years. The place was incredible and so well stocked. The owners were so responsive and nice. I could go on and on but just trust me when I say it was a wonderful vacation.

Family vacation
This location was wonderful. He provided us with great weather. And I almost caught the biggest fish in my life. We had a wonderful time. Took use of the kayaks and fishing equipment frequently.Towards the end of the week we had some issues with the iron in the water staining clothes. Highly recommend this house. I wouldn’t hesitate in a second to go back

My Piece of Heaven
This is a very well equipped ,very comfortable house located on the most beautiful place to watch the sunrise on Platte Lake. Great time on Platte Lake
Wonderful property managers who were responsive to all of our questions. Thank you for sharing your well-equipped, comfortable lake house that had everything needed to make a great vacation. We had a wonderful time on Platte Lake and love the location on the cove. Having the use of the kayaks, life jackets, beach towels and all of the other amenities was a plus! The dock and sandy beach made it easy to access the water and we enjoyed kayaking and swimming. One of the days, we rented canoes from Riverside and canoed down the Platte River to Lake Michigan. We also rented a pontoon boat from MacDonald’s Marina in Frankfort and it was very convenient because they delivered the boat by water and put in a mooring right by the dock. We had a great week and will be back!

Wonderful family vacation up north
This was our second time renting this home. We loved the location as it felt private yet was near the places we like to visit when we go up north. The weather was perfect for enjoying outdoor activities during our stay but the home was well stocked with books, games and a large television (which we never turned on!!) for rainy days. We hope to visit again!

Great spot on the lake
We really enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed. The location in Birch Cove is probably the best on Platte Lake. We will come back!

The place was very well-stocked. The views were gorgeous as it was the lake. My grandkids spend most the time in the water. It was great to have sandy beach with almost no weeds.They’ve been provided toys to play in the sand

We loved our stay here. The short (level) walk down to the dock and lake was perfect for a couple of the older ones in the group. Beds were comfortable and the property was clean. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking and plenty of things on the property to make time on the water enjoyable. With a 15 hour drive from Virginia, it was great to not have to pack too much. Communication with the owners was quick when we had questions. Definitely would recommend.

Great family vacation!
My family loved staying at this property. The owners were very easy to communicate with both before and during our stay. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. The well-stocked kitchen, second refrigerator in the garage and gas grill made meal preparation very easy. We appreciated the access to the fishing equipment and kayaks, making use of them almost every day. The location of the home was perfect for all the activities our family loves doing when we are Up North. We look forward to staying again next year!

Week on Platte
We love Platte Lake, my parents brought me as a children.... now I’m bringing my children and grandchildren! (For the last 30 years)
We ha a beautiful week of weather except a bad storm early in the week through the night. Which brings me to my biggest disappointment about this rental property. The yard was a swamp the entire time we were there. We were very limited with the kids to the dock or beach. Luckily my sister rented a house down the road with a beautiful yard and we hung out there almost everyday. The house was very accommodating inside but not sure we’ll go back.

Beautiful lakeside home
We love being on the water. It's a must for our trips for Michigan. Normally we stay on one of Glen Lakes but nothing was available on the water so we tried a new lake this time. We like to be able to swim, paddle board, kayak, bike or run right outside our door and this place was great for that. Loved having use of the owners 3 kayaks! The home had great accommodations for our family of 6. Much more modern than the cabins we are used to staying in.
The only negative was that the owners of both houses on either side of us were having reunions of some sort the whole week with people camping on their property and cars all along the street. They weren't obnoxious and were actually very friendly but wasn't quite the quiet getaway we are used to.
We found lots of great places to eat in spite of pandemic. Some still only do take out but most have dine in. Also close access to Platte River tubing/kayaking and a great multipurpose trail in Beulah. Overall great family vacation

A Perfect Week
This home provided everything needed to make our week on Platte Lake very special. The layout, room sizes, furniture, kitchen and deck were perfect and easily accommodated our party of 6 adults. The grounds were spacious and the dock and lakefront access served our pontoon boat and wave runner very well.

Fantastic vacation!
We loved our stay! The kitchen had everything you would need. We used the kayaks and boat. The kids loved the welcome goodies. Fishing off the dock was fun. We enjoyed it so much we are planning on returning next year. Thanks so much.

Wonderful Home on Big Platte Lake!

Wow! Just simply Wow!
This week couldn’t have been better. My family (me, my wife, kids 11 & 6) had the best time we could have asked for. The house is very well appointed, having many things most rentals don’t include (linens, beach towels, fishing equipment, kayaks, and too many more to list). It was more like visiting a relative’s house as opposed to renting a stranger’s. The area was quiet, very different than the north side of the lake with the numerous resorts. Our 11 year old has special needs, and often needs a few days to get used to a new environment, but she was comfortable the first night.
The only thing that could have made this a better time away is knowing it’s available again for next year’s vacation!

Fabulous Family Vacation!
We had a group of nine family members from distant states, ranging in ages from 13 to 68. We loved the house and location as soon as we step foot in the house. The house is modern and well kept. Nearly all the supplies we needed were found in and around the house. We cooked nearly every meal, the kitchen was well equipped and supplies were easy to come by.
The lake is a lot closer to the back step then it appears in the photo. We spent nearly every evening on the deck or the dock enjoying the lake.
The location is central to so many activities. We wine tasted to the east, explored Frankfort and Glen Arbor, and visited the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Our whole family loved this place!

Perfect Summer Get Away
If you want it all, this place has got it!! Beautiful, quite, safe, clean secluded & includes all amenities & most importantly all the action. Endless extracurriculars being on the lake activities while very close to dunes, hiking, biking trails, boutique shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed using the included paddle boat in the morning to fish while grilling the fish at night. The patio was perfect for morning coffee and yes some wine in the evening. Couldn't ask for anything more, just wished the family could have stayed longer.

Perfect in every way!
We loved every second of the time we got to spend at Matt and MB's place. From waking up in the loft watching the sunrise out over the lake to sitting by the campfire roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. All of the beds were nice and comfy and everyone woke up saying how great their sleep had been. The kitchen was equipped well enough that we were able to make some nice big family-style meals that we were able to enjoy out on the deck (and the three season room the nights it rained).
If you're in to fishing we caught plenty of fish right from the end of the dock. In fact we had more luck from the dock than we did when we took the boat out. There was a nice selection from small mouth and rock bass all the way to lil bluegills that our 8 year old niece loved pulling in with every other cast.
If you're looking for something more exciting, tubing on Pine River has never been anything but a blast. Although we didn't make it on this trip, we've gone to the Cherry Bowl drive-in (~5 mi) before and had a great time and would recommend it for any warm summer evening.
Another place we stopped by while we were staying there was Gwen Frostic Prints down in Benzonia, it's an amazing local artist store that you can watch the prints being made on antique presses while you browse.

Spoiled for Life
If I could give it 10 stars I would! My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary here. It was magical. We arrived and the house was absolutely immaculate. Waking up in the morning from an incredible night's sleep in the loft with a stunning view of the lake right from the bedroom, then coming downstairs to enjoy some french press coffee in the 4 seasons room while the sun came up.. Devine. I've never been so relaxed and rejuvenated. The house has stunning views with floor to ceiling windows and manages to feel tucked into the woods and yet right on the water at once. The week was filled with laughs, kayaking, fishing, relaxing by the fire, puzzles and most of all a complete cleansing of the cares of everyday life. We talk about this vacation at least once a week, we hope to someday have a home of our own that rivals the serenity of What'cha Dune!
