Good enough breakfast. Not so far from motorway. Reception working 24 hour !!!

It was my second time staying there for the Bayreuth festival and it was wonderful yet again. Good rooms, good facilities, fabulous service to get to the theatre and back. I’m going back again next year!

I visited the hotel 3 times in the last 4 years. Clean, great staff. Very good breakfast. shuttle service to the Festspielhaus is taken care of (at cost) Rheingold is always my first choice.

Hotel is great…. but … it is getting a little bit outdated. What was great in 2018, is fine in 2022. It is time to plan to bring the hotel to the new standards.

Well placed in central location but away from the crowds

Limited restaurant menu in the evening and the restaurant was not open at all on the evenings There was no festival production on. We couldn’t work out if this would still be the case out with Wagner festival dates or not.

Good sauna, good location for the Festspiele

The place needs renovating. Disappointed not to have tea/coffee making facilities or even an iron in the room. The hairdryer didn’t work properly.

We stay at the Rheingold Hotel whenever we come to the Wagner Festival ( 6 times ). We like the style of the hotel and the assistance of the staff . The Sri Lankan manager of Richards bar is especially good and appreciated by us and other guests . We enjoyed the cold plate and drinks which we had in Richards ( outside on the terrance ) after the opera .

On our first morning we came down latish ( 9.30 am ) for breakfast . The restaurant was chaotic and staff were in total disarray . After waiting for 15 minutes I had to clear the table myself of the dirty plates and cups used by the previous guests - I took three journeys to the kitchen to do this and no one there acknowledged me or showed any interest in why I needed to be delivering crockery and cutlery myself . It then took another ten minutes before I could get one of the waitresses to bring me coffee - and even then I had to go to the buffet and pour myself a glass of milk for the coffee because no one brought a jug of milk to our table - dreadful service . Then amazingly on the second morning of our stay when we came down to breakfast at around 8.30 am all was perfect as usual , the staff we happy and attentive and everything was delivered helpfully in good order .
