The Mansion was a great change of pace from the usual stays. The house and my room were beautiful. Location was great. Walked almost everywhere I needed to go. I was on 3rd floor, so the stairs were big exercise at times wanted or not lol . Hope to be back soon.

This is a lovely historic home in a charming neighborhood within walking distance to several great restaurants - very reasonably priced without a lot of extra fees that have become the norm. Breakfast is not provided, but we tried two different breakfast spots within walking distance during our stay that were excellent- The Mosquito Cafe and Sunflower Bakery. We enjoyed the walk and the food! Our first night we did unfortunately have some noisy late night neighbors in the room next to us, but I messaged the owner and he quickly took care of it. He always responded promptly to any needs. I highly recommend this beautiful home.

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Manor. A couoke of things for them to consider...more than 1 little trash can in a room (it was in the bathroom) especially when staying multiple nights. The other thing is a heater. The room had one of those wood burning looking plug in type things but put out 0 heat. I had to bring in my own blankets. It was very chilly in January. Karin was amazing. She gets 5 stars. Other than those 2 things, we will definitely recommend and be back.

The place was very cool. However, there were bedbugs in the rooms. We stayed in two rooms and I was bitten both nights. Even with all my precautions, the bugs made it home with us.

We spent out 19th wedding anniversary in the tropicana suite. It was wonderful and very spacious.The places we wanted to try for coffee and meals, were all a short distance away.
We will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing this beautiful home! We loved it there!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in this lovely hotel. It was exactly what we wanted. It was quite, relaxing, and very cozy. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. We had the room with the patio and the weather was perfect to sit outside and enjoy each others company. Not to mention the location of this hotel is only a 2 to 3 minute drive from the restaurants, shopping center, and Seawall Drive. Brian was great with communication and made the check in process very easy. We had a wonderful little vacation here. Will definitely book with this hotel again.

A nice location down the street from historic downtown for dining, shopping and other entertainment. Easy access to other locations in Galveston via Seawall Blvd or Broadway. We went to Galveston State Park for kayaking and beach day, next day took Ferry to Bolivar Peninsula for bird watching, saw moma and baby gator. Overall a good time. Room was cool and spacious with comfortable bed, perfect for our weekend get away.

Our stay was June 23 - June 26, 2023. This is the perfect place to stay in Galveston. It is walking distance to The Strand and we felt very safe. The house is gorgeous and our room spacious and very quiet. We enjoyed exploring all of the cool architectural features in this historic home. The bed was so comfortable! We plan to stay here again.

The Grand Manor was Grand indeed. The Suite was very Grand. Lots of space. Easy to check in. It was within walking distance of Historic Downtown. The location was close to a wide variety of tourist locations but also a bit of distance from crowds. Which suited us just fine. If you are looking for a nice get away, this location should be on the top of the list.

This is a beautiful property and the photos don't do it justice. We came across this listing after we already booked a condo for our vacation, but we fell in love with it instantly so, I contacted Brian immediately to confirm the room we were viewing would be the room we would be able to get for our stay(some reviews indicated it might get switched). He assured me we could have the room listed. So, I canceled our condo and booked this room immediately. It was several months in advance so we were able to get a full refund on the condo. On the day we were arriving, Brian messaged to tell us how to check in and that he had changed our room. He also stated we wouldn't have access to any other part of the home except our room and kitchen and we would have to use the back stairs and kitchen door for our stay. We weren't allowed to use the front door or stairs. We couldn't go beyond the kitchen, and there were signs on that door telling us to be very quiet. Karin was very helpful in getting us the room we were originally told we were booking once we got there. Also, there is no access to laundry or bicycles as stated on the listing. We had to go to a laundromat. Had we known any of this before it was too late to get a refund, we would have stayed somewhere else with access to all that is advertised. That is probably why we weren't informed until the day of our arrival.

In keeping with the age of the home, our room had lace curtains. They looked pretty and we’re appropriate for all areas except the bathroom. The bathroom has a large window beside the tub with only a lace, see through curtain. The shower was also visible from the window to anyone on the street or in the houses across the street. This was true for the toilet as well.
We had to use only the night light to do anything in the bathroom at night.
Get a different curtain or install a pull down shade.

This property of the late 19th century sends you right into that era with the decor and architecture. I truly loved staying here and would definitely stay again. Despite others staying at the same time, it was so quiet we felt like no one else was in the house. The modernized working kitchen with multiple refrigerators was available for use was very clean and with ample space for all in the house. There was plenty of parking and very close to The Strand as well as The Grande Opera House. The neighborhood around the house was clean and safe. So, if you have tickets to a performance, you're only a few blocks away.
I did have a little trouble with checking in but only because I asked for a late date change a couple of times which they were happy to accommodate.

The place needs some TLC, age has taken a toll. Bed was very comfortable. The price was low, and now we know why. Pictures look better than reality. In a pinch it still works. Nice management people!

Really enjoyed my visit at the mansion... Beautiful place, the bed was extremely comfy, Karin very friendly and helpful and took care of all issues when settling in. I would visit again on another trip. Brian and Karin were great hosts.

Great but, you need to know before you go. I wish I had asked more questions. While I enjoyed my accommodations, there was an understanding that booking ahead was not communicated to me beforehand. Because of that, I was moved to another room the last night. It was described as a cozy room. Well, it was nothing but a moldy, smelly below that house room. Unsafe, no deadbolt on the door with a small lobby that stayed open until 11 pm. Quite a step down from where I began my stay. Very disappointing. I told the owner and he pretty much said, well that's what you get for not booking earlier. So, know before you go...

We came 12/9/2022 and promptly both felt ill. I went to the EMergency Room due to being a complex patient and my wife went to An Urgent Care. I’m a physician and can tell you that both were excellent in their care. We both had Influenza Type A, I call it type miserable. We then spent the next 2 days quarantined in VRBO accommodation. The room was large, comfortable, airy with all the conveniences so it served us well. We had friends in town who chauffeured us to and from as needed and brought meals. So Brian and Karin will find out when the read our comment left for them at the Grand Mansion. I’m sure they will give the Tropicana Room an extra thorough cleaning. Alice highly recommends the tub for a bath. nice and deep and soothed her aches away—temporarily. Feeling much better, wearing our masks more consistently, —yes we are both fully vaccinated for Covid and Flu. The “intrepid Travelers” are continuing on our next adventure. Kevin of Kevin and Alice

Gorgeous house and great location. Restaurants and shopping in and around The Strand are all walkable. The neighborhood is easy to get in and out of.
