While my 9 friends and I enjoyed the house, the pool, the numerous balconies, and the location, we were not satisfied with the cleanliness and calls/texts to the office went unanswered or unaddressed. The house itself is very large and the 9 of us were very comfortable. Then amenities were great, the blue tooth stereo was a plus. Now for the beware: the outdoor areas were not addressed by the cleaners. After over an hour, I had the numerous pool toys left behind in one area,and the outdoor showers, and the patio clear of sand. I don't believe the patio had been washed down all season. Every trash can was full. Not only full but one had maggots. With trash day being Saturday, I can't believe that the cleaners would not have made sure that the trash was put out. I do not know when the floor was last mopped but it was not before we came in. Not all of the bathrooms were cleaned. We called the office, waited for the cleaners who never showed up, and were give a new shower curtain to replace the moldy one by the maintenance crew who were servicing another house. Yes, I did address these issues with the office as well as whether I needed to stop to check in. I was told that if I was not getting pool passes that I did not need to check in. Walking in to NO toilet paper was a little jaring. The Welcome package of paper products, soap, etc was non existent. I called the office and was told that they did not leave those at the rentals that I had to stop in the office to get it. Went to the office and was given pool passes... no package. So for size, location, ambiance this is a great place. For cleanliness, be ready to clean. For response from the office...

the house was ok but for the price of the rental there were many issues, the area around the pool was a overgrown with grass and weeds and in general a mess, the property was not clean when we moved in, the front door was rusted and sticking the whole stay. We contacted the relator about an issue with the fridge when we first got there and it took a day and a half for them to actually come out to address the issue. We have been coming to the outer bank for years and this was the worst property we have ever rented and the reality company was far below what we are used to .

First I want to say we had a wonderful vacation with our family, friends and of course our fur babies. This house was in a good location and enjoyed the lake views and the kids were able to kayak and paddle board in the lake. We also enjoyed having a pool in the back yard and are accustomed to having a pool. The property description was accurate regarding the location and amenities. Very relaxing vacation. For the downside...The house was not clean upon arrival. The shower curtain liner downstairs had a significant amount of mold on them which was disgusting and black mold which had to be present for a significant amount of time. The Keurig machine leaked which was later replaced by maintenance. Maintenance also changed out the shower curtain liner and took a picture of the amount of mold on in which he too also found disgusting. Maintenance also had to unclog the downstairs bathtub/shower as it would not drain. Maintenance also had to change the flood light bulbs. This was on Monday and check in was on Saturday. There were also ants in the kitchen and bedroom and family member woke up with ants on her. On Wednesday evening the stove/over stopped working and the emergency maintenance number was called and I was informed that maintenance would be calling. I still have not received a call from maintenance to date and have been home from vacation for a week at the time of this review. Anyhow, we later identified that somehow the stove/oven managed to come unplugged so that is concerning for a safety hazard. I appreciate that linens and towels were included with the rental but only 2 sets of towels were provided for each bedroom since one bedroom has 4 bunk beds. We are also thankful for the washer and dryer however, it took multiple cycles for the dryer to dry clothes. We would consider staying at this location in the future if maintenance issues and most definitely the cleaning issues are resolved.

Overall, great stay. Took refrigerators a while to cool off. Way too close to other neighbors. Big plus for lakeside fishing, pickleball court, easy walk to beach and the outside bathroom!!!

We had plenty of room for our 14 person group! The bedrooms were great, and there was enough space for people to find a quiet spot whenever they didn’t want to hang out in the great room— even our big dog, found his own cozy corner! Everyone loved the pool and hot tub and beach access was easy. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals for our large group. It was a wonderful break, and we would definitely rent this property again!

The house is large and well-stocked with kitchen items. Everything worked, was a short two block walk to beach access and a path around the lake is literally one house away. There are tennis courts, one of which was marked for pickle ball. Harris Teeter is a mile away should you need provisions. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

For the most part this house was absolutely great to stay in. The house was clean, plenty of space, not too far from the beach. The only thing that was a bummer is that there isnt much of grass or yard and the pool isnt heated. Other than that we had a great stay.

The house was as described and my family and I loved it. It looked and smelled clean. However the house could benefit from a deep cleaning, especially the floors on the top level. The main downside was the pool area being taken over by flies.

We got together with our 5 children and our 4grandchildren and my 80 yr old mother and brother and had the best time just going to beach and hanging by pool!! We also decided to get married on the beach after being together 24 yrs !!! Great time !

Arriving traffic conditions were torture. Traffic management officer at stop signs and lights could have helped. Instead in Duck NC they just stayed in their cars staring at the mess. 10 miles in 1 hour !
House was mostly clean. Dryer lint allover laundry area with old dryer that gave off burning smell unless a really light load was used. Could not take a bath in my room because shower/tub water control was stuck up for shower only. Broken toilet holder in another room. Half the out side lights were out. The property was dirty upon arrival. In fact spent several hours cleaning the property inside and out. The kitchen floor was dirty with black dirt on our feet after walking around. The outside pool area was dirty and over grown. We spent an additional 2 hours cleaning leaves from last fall, trash, and and organizing the chairs. Due to this, Beach Realty should refund our cleaning fee.

The property was exactly as described with a fantastic view of the sunset. Nice, spacious layout, lots of amenities (need a sun umbrella by the pool. What impression would you get if the first thing you saw upon entering was a rusty lock and door knob? What about seeing the sink stopper (2 of them) in 3 pieces laying by the sink? What should I think if the baby's feet and knees are black from the great room floor? The bedrooms were well maintained. The outside bathroom was full of leaf debris and no there was no toilet paper. The outside shower stalls had a razor and hair clips left from the previous renters.....how would you evaluate the cleaning crew??? Three times I called the rental company (1, to report small insects in the bathroom on the second floor; 2, to check out and report the ice machine in the frig in the great room was not working and 3, to ask if clothing had been found and to make arrangements to have it sent to MD) No one ever called/responded to call number 1. No text, email or call was received to respond to call #2 and call #3 took 2 follow ups to get a response. WE loved the beach, the water and the surrounding shops. Always go to the Black Pelican for our big meal out. Surfing lessons and fishing also were a big hit. If the maintenance/cleaning and real customer service was received, I would surely recommend. For us, we won't be back nor will we deal with this rental agency.

Upon arriving at the rental, it was obvious it was not in the pristine condition that was portrayed in the listing online. The property showed signs of not being maintained, such as weeds around the pool area, water leakage over time around sliding doors, worn carpet, etc. The clothes dryer took three to four cycles to completely dry laundry loads. The stove did not heat to the temperature it was set at. The microwave took several minutes to heat foods that should only take 30 seconds. One of the bedrooms on the second floor was covered in dog fur, with blood spots on the comforter. The bathroom in this bedroom also had feces in the toilet, despite the cleaning company's paper strip across the toilet. The vacuum cleaner in this bedroom did not work. The gas tank in the grill was empty. Also, the pictures on the online listing, as evidenced by the outside plant growth and the lack of homes built around the property, were taken years ago and are not current. The realtor did send a cleaning crew to take care of the second floor bedroom as soon as we called. The location in relation to the beach was fine, but we did not realize that the house was built in a crammed together development. Overall, it was ok, but would have been much better if these issues were addressed.

Overall great stay! The house is less than a 5 min walk to the beach on a street with little traffic and a view of a small pond. The furnishings are a bit dated and there are small things that would make it nicer/more convenient. The dishwasher had issues while we were there that they fixed within 48 hours. The couch is a sectional but none of the sections stay together anymore. The porch swing fell out of the rafters on our last day as well. It didn't occur to me to look into the grill situation before we left, but the house only has a camp site like grill with no lid. Having a real grill, coal or gas, would have been a huge plus. So while its perfectly comfortable it could use a few updates here and there.

The bath towels that I'd order were not at the house, of course we didn't notice till it was bath time the first night, made the call the next morning & went to pick-up our 12 sets of bath towels...the top bunk beds main board was broke, so we couldn't use it. they did come out the next afternoon to repair it,but it needed more than he had with him. the wash & dryer were rusted & it took 3/4 hours to dry a load of laundry.The stove looked dated-like it was from a thrift store-but it did work well.The pool guy came in the middle of the week, when he left we found a paper that was checked that he'd cleaned the pool, he had done nothing at all to the pool or hot tub, we were there, so we know.All in all we had a good time, there were 11 of us-2 families.

House is located in a very nice area, close to beach and shopping, go-carts, bumper cars, etc. Kitchen and pool areas are showing their age as compared to other years we have been there. Cleaning/linen companies do an okay job, but certainly not what it has been in the past. Management company was very easy to deal with and accommodating. We did enjoy our time at Serenity Now overall though!!

2 weeks in Corolla, distance to beach was okay, even though this was a dog friendly home we were unable to sleep in master bedroom due to excessive dog hair on bed linens including mattress pad, comforter, shams and bed skirt, notified agency who sent someone out next day she removed linens and used lint roller to remove dog hair and replaced comforter with older one no shams or bed skirt was replaced states this is all she had, had to vacuum all of floors and there was cobwebs in all corners, previous guest did not have trash picked up so there was trash in can which had maggots and flies in it can was left in front of home, which caused flies to continuously attempt to come inside during stay. Picture shows a fairly nice view but homes have since been built so view not so nice. Great that stay included bed linens and towels, wish it had included dish cloth & towel. Don't think would stay at this property again for the price of stay expected home to be much cleaner..

Three rolls of toilet paper for six bathrooms.One bath towel per person for week.No dish towel or dish cloth.Stains on carpet.Scuffs on furniture.Sliding glass door wells green with mold.Cobwebs all over outside front of house.Cleaning instructions: load and unload dishwasher, wipe counters, take out trash, accumulate dirty towels - I was on vacation and did not feel like I should do all of that for the money I paid. Also, there were only two dishwasher tablets left for the week.

The location of this house was great with only a short walk to the beach. We had 4 families with a total of 17 people and the house accommodated us well! A few recommendations would be for the house to have a better entertainment area for the kids and additional TV's in the bedrooms. Overall, a great experience!!

It was such an easy process with the keyless entry. The home was super nice and very clean. It is super close to the beach and the pool and hot tub are nice too! There are many shops close by such as Harris Teeter (open 24 hours) one way and then the other way are many shops and restaurants. I would say that 4 DVD's does not make a DVD library!! So bring some along with you! Also there was an XBox game console but no games. There were a few days that it was chilly, so it would have been nice to have info on the fireplace so we could have turned it on. These are very minor complaints. We had a fabulous time and it was super comfortable. Go to Kitty Hawk Kites in Duck to do the Jet Ski tours with Pringles. We had so much fun we went back for a 2nd time! The restaurant La Dolce Vida was wonderful - make a reservation!! The check out was super easy as well. It was really an effortless check in and check out!! Can't get better than that!!

When we walked in and the five adults saw the house we were all surprised at how clean the house was. We had a great time swimming with the grandkids in the pool. It was a great time in the house everything we needed was there. We all loved the house except for the heavy rain that knocked out the direct tv service for the one night we had a heavy rain. That was only gripe that we all had about the house.

This house is well maintained and clean, and spacious enough to accomodate 18 people comfortably. The private pool is outstanding! Beach Realty made rental and check in very easy; we had no problems. Accessibility to the beach is not as easy as the picture online suggests, as several new homes have been built in that area since the time of that photo. A new picture needs to be posted so as not to mislead potential renters.

We had a great week, few rainy days but warm enough. The house,was clean when we arrived. Few things to change-- needs new pots and pans and a good cleaning on ground level area..the cement pad area,but the house and pool area were great. Plenty of room for our party of 10 in this house. Would recommend for sure !

We enjoyed being so close to the lake for kayaking and paddle boarding and the walk to the beach was easy. The kitchen was better stocked than most beach rentals we have experienced and there was lots of space for our family. Electronic access to the house made check in simple. The only complaint our family had was that the lots in this neighborhood are very close together offering little privacy for the backyard/pool.

While the home has potential, we would not rent again. All around the house outside filthy, cigarette butts, trash everywhere, left side a fowl fish odor. Dirty linens and a chemical sprayer laid out front all week. Cleanliness inside minimal. Property management nonresponsive (seemed annoyed) until the door fell off the outside shower. Property needs serious maintenance, mold around vents concerning. No ocean view, very disappointed. The owner adequately communicated written instructions and the welcome bag appreciated. Pros-convenient beach access, view of lake from master bedroom. Our family spent all day most days at the ocean, rented surf boards and with young children enjoyed the pool, hot tub and fine dining in our home for the week.

Celebrated my wife's "milestone" birthday with family and friends. House was perfect size great layout. A little early in the season for us to enjoy pool and sun decks, Hot tub was great as was the short walk to the Beach.
