We stayed 2 nights for a leadership retreat and can't say enough good things about the property! It was so peaceful and yet there was so much to do on site. Meggen was wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed!

Our small company comprised of 16 adults who work remotely and reside in 5 northwest states spent a long weekend at the Elk Barn Inn and it was absolutely PERFECT! Meggen has literally thought of everything to make this place special. The entire property is absolutely lovely. We definitely plan to hold another event there in the future!

The Inn was even better than it looked in the pictures. The rooms and gathering spaces were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Lots of kitchen space for our crew of 25. We enjoyed the property so much too- lots of great amenities. The pond and stream are great and Meggen made us feel welcome and was attentive when we had a need. Great stay- highly recommend!

We loved this exclusive get away in Montana! The property was amazing with so many activities and the house was even more amazing with all the space and accommodations. It was so nice to have food and snacks there because we didn’t realize how far away from stores we were. The kids had so much fun and the owner was available when we needed her! We are for sure going back.

We had an amazing getaway with friends. Meggen made sure we had everything we needed and more! A must stay for large groups wanting to get away from it all, but still be able to access civilization with a short drive.

We are Friends and Families that ride snowmobile’s through the winter and love to check new places out! The riding was good after we got some fresh snow, our stay at the Barn was better than expected! We are all in to see stay at the Barn again next year! Meggen is the general manager and the owner, she was great to meet and find out a little bit about the Barn. I would like to thank her and her family for rebuilding the Barn so we can enjoy it also! The Elk Barn Inn is a little piece of heaven and our family loved every minute of our stay. Meggen’s attention to every detail was noticed and appreciated at every turn, like homemade chocolate chips cookies (and many other snacks) to greet the weary travelers and fans and extra blankets in every room. The inn is spacious with many areas to gather in large or small groups. We played lots of games! The kitchen is a caterers dream and we found every possible pan, bowl and tool needed. The kids spent hours playing wiffle ball in the spacious gravel parking area and they especially enjoyed skipping rocks and wading in the creek and pond even though the water temperature took their breath away. We brought many of our own games and yard toys but didn’t even need to get them out. The kids had so much fun playing outside we never felt the need to bring out the craft projects we planned. Everyone slept comfortably and the early risers didn’t wake the late sleepers since the bedrooms are separated from the main gathering areas. We spent one day visiting the Ross Creek Giant Cedars, Kootenai Falls and the Swinging Bridge—all spectacular sights. We even rented the bowling alley in Troy where we were treated like honored guests. Very memorable family reunion.

The property was immaculate and so well appointed in every detail. The host was gracious, kind and accommodating. She made me and all my guests feel so welcome. The setting was breathtaking and so wonderful to get away. It’s true luxury accommodations in the heart of nature.

It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature and family! The house was clean and fully stocked. Lots of room for food and people. Cozy place to be together but roomy enough to have a quiet moment to read a book! Loved it!

We just returned home from our stay at the Elk Barn. We loved every minute we were there. It is in a gorgeous setting, with so many outdoor things to do and see. Beautifully furnished and decorated property! We were there during a heat wave and the cooling was inadequate on the 3rd floor (1 bedroom and theater room) but otherwise we had a wonderful stay! Grounds and pond were nice, too. The pond was a nice respite from the heat and accomodated our 16 grandchildren well. They have made a beach with a fine gravel that extends all the way to the island so its not weedy and doesn't have sticks that hurt your feet. They also provided a nice array of treats that were enjoyed by all. We had a great time!
