Not so comfortable bed

Hotel staff are very friendly. Buffet selection was limited but tasty. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The balcony is a good place to have a hot drink as you look over the lake. We were told the hotel is over 700 years old and it looks old but great. Good location. Would stay again.

No lift. Restaurant closes relatively early.

It is such a unique experience. The staff is super lovely and our stay was perfect. The view is insanely beautiful and we're sure this is the best place to stay in Hallstatt. It is worth the special location and experience. Gladly again.

Old building, it was difficult to lift the luggage to the 3rd floor

The location.

When arriving we felt like wrong time and didn't receive a warm welcome. There was a lot of defence about how things are and not make us as guests. First priority. In the restaurant/ Gasthof we could not eat inside even we were staying in the hotel above and it was raining outside. After long day of traveling it doesn't give a welcome vibe. One more: you need cash to eat in a restaurant!! Which on top is completely overpriced. ( This is for all restaurants in the area).

Ancient beautiful building in the center of the center of Hallstatt, great location! Lake view from the window. Staff is very kind and helpful, and the atmosphere is really calm. Good value for money!

Ancient building means that there are only stairs with no elevator, low water pressure etc. Center of Hallstatt is closed for private vehicles, so a 15 minutes walk or a shuttle from the parking space (P1) is necessary. Nothing to do about it, and still worth the location - but have to be taken into consideration.

Lovely place owned by a lovely family, amazing view and great very old rooms. We felt at home and were welcomed with a smile. Recommended! Location is very good.

The hotel and room floor make noise when stepped on, nothing really meaningful.

Long response time from staff, poor soundproofing.

Very old character building. Balcony with amazing view of the lake. Good bathroom and water pressure despite very old building. Good breakfast and have toilet for use after checkout.

Some downsides to an old building unavoidable, such as no lift for luggage. Easier to reach by ferry, but still 10min walk from bus station. Easier to stay closer to bus station if you have a lot of luggage.

Our view from our balcony was magical with swans greeting us every morning. The staff was fantastic from our hostess to the restaurant staff! The authenticity of this accomadation and it's history was exactly what we were looking for. The food was incredible in the restaurant and the included breakfast was varied and wonderful in a great room. We loved Hallstatt, especially in the morning and night when the tourists weren't crowding the streets. Be sure and visit the archeological museum beneath the shop on the way to the ferry!

Our only thought was that the coffee and tea that is available 24hrs. is unfortunately instant and on the second level reception area. While we knew clearly that navigating the steep narrow stairs of this historical building would be a challenge for us, we gladly accepted that in leu of the view and authenticity of the structure. Going up and down the stairs in the morning for coffee to enjoy at our leisure was difficult though. Perhaps, placing a pot in the common areas on each floor might solve this? Otherwise, our experience was surreal! Love these people and this place!

Everything was great from the moment we arrived! It’s a 700 years old house full of history, the bed was a little too soft for me. The restaurant was great too! The house beer they have is my fav in my 2 week vacation in Europe. The breakfast was rich, and the staff are great!!!!!!! We stayed for only a night in Hallstatt, but we did have a really great time there!

The view was superb, we had two balconies! And the restaurant was good tooo! And there was free breakfast!! The staff were also all very nice and friendly, and allowed us to check in early. The history and the antique furniture also add to the attraction of the place!

It was a bit difficult to go up to the rooms when you have a lot of luggages but not too bad as only a few floors. Plus if you choose this place, you are going for the historical and local vibe and not the modern one anyway, so I think its worth the walk up and down the stairs with luggages.

Authentical hotel in the center of the old village. Nice, friendly, helpfull staff. Comfortable bed, good beakfast, wonderful view from the window to the lake.

The location is perfect! The room is really nice and kind. Perfect to stay 1 night and know Hallstatt without too many tourists. Staff and location 10/10 The hotel is inside Hallstatt so you need to arrive by shuttle. Everything is explained when booking at the hotel.
