My son's school residential got cancelled for the 3rd year in a row so we booked a last minute trip to save the day and cheer him up. We had a lovely week, it's a very nice area with lots for kids to do. The cottage and grounds at Glyndley Manor were great, with a pool, an area to play football or badminton and a basketball hoop as well. We just so happened to bring the basketball so my son spent lots of time happily playing there. The cottages felt rural being surrounded by mature trees and fields with bleating sheep but everything we needed was right on our doorstep. The neighbours in the other cottages were super friendly and our pup made a few doggy friends. We found the people in the whole area, everywhere we went, to be very friendly, nice people. We took our SUP's and found lots of nice places to paddle; Pevensey bay and Cuckmere river were favourites. The beaches are close by and all lovely, some undeveloped and natural and others like Eastbourne developed with a pier and gorgeous Victorian buildings. There's something about Pevensey Bay, it has a nice feel to it. Beachy head near Eastbourne was amazing for a walk at dusk, the sunset and view, which we are starved of where we live, was beautiful.

A great find!
Having decided on a staycation due to Covid, it was the first time we had been in the area. The cottage was comfortable and practical, and the layout of the cottages made it easy for our daughter to meet friends. The location is brilliant as there is so much to do nearby, especially for kids! From the beach, to fruit picking, funfairs and even a terrific zoo.

Perfect
Lovely cottage, perfect size for a family of 4. Clean with everything we needed. The grounds were lovely too and location was within short driving distance to nearby towns and coast. The owners responded quickly to our enquiries and came to see us while we were there. Gordon was very welcoming. A great stay, we would definitely go back!

Cosy cottage in a green area
We stayed a week in Gordon's cottage. It was easy to reach and find, and the check-in process was very smooth (keybox with code). The cottage was clean and cosy; it sits with other 29 similar-sized ones and it is surrounded by green pastures and walks - boasting a free common swimming pool in the Manor (never too busy) that our 2 children loved. Position is excellent in exploring the surrounding areas.
Gordon was fast in replying to our questions when contacted a couple of times. Recommended.

Peaceful, countryside hideaway with easy access to all local amenities and places of interest.
Thank you, we had a wonderful holiday staying here in Stone Cross. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Lovely treat to find beds made up on arrival. The communication prior to and during our stay was excellent. Sandy and Gordon were quick to respond to a non-working microwave and brought over a replacement within hours of us notifying them. The cottage was perfectly situated for us. A peaceful, quiet location (essential with 3 autistic, sensory overloaded people in the party), within the grounds of the Manor House surrounded by fields and woods. We were able to take our dog which was perfect. Shops were 5 minutes or so by car in Hailsham. We visited all the beaches we love and spent lots of time in the sea - Pevensey Bay, Seaford, Birling Gap and Cuckmere Haven, as well as a day in the busier Brighton. Would definitely come back.

Well equiped and good value.
The cottage (which is really a bungalow) is very well located for exploring East Sussex attractions such as Charleston Farmhouse, the South Downs Way, Herstmonceux etc. It' is in a small development of about 30 similar bungalows which was a surprise at first but it actually works very well. There is a central laundry and information point. The grounds of the manor house are freely available with a fine lake. The property is well equiped and comfortable and the price is reasonable. Dogs have to be on leads in the estate but there is a good field adjacent for a run.

Very quiet place to stay
Generally all good. However bed linen needs renewing particularly duvets and pillows. One of the beds is very soft and could do with being replaced.

Awesome
Made arrangements well in advance and the owner was so great to deal with. Arrived to find a lovely little cottage in a nice quiet area not far from Polegate. The place was clean and well cared for. We only had one small issue and the owner's son fixed it for us immediately. Thanks Gordon, for the great place to stay. A lovely cottage for a small family. Hope to come back to visit again.

Excellent holiday base
We have stayed in East Sussex many times and Cuckoo cottage provided excellent value for money and a comfortable stay. Situated just outside Eastbourne the cottage is very close to Pevensey Bay which is great and also has a castle. The grounds are lovely - the kids were delighted by the number of rabbits we saw - and you can walk or cycle the nearby Cuckoo trail. If it rains Hailsham Leisure centre is only minutes away with bowling and a very nice swimming pool - luckily we only had one rainy day. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend Cuckoo cottage.
