We had a very enjoyable stay at the cosy cottage.

Gorgeous quaint cottage in a fabulous village, parking to the front and right in the centre, easy access to everything. The cottage was clean, cosy, warm and well presented with comfy beds. It’s a compact cottage but has everything you need for a short getaway. Logs for the wood burner and a bottle were also there on arrival, thanks

Totally charming. Stairs a bit tricky, but only if you are using the second bedroom. Location can’t be beat.

Steep stairs but lovely just the same.

Excellent location close to centre of town and walking tracks but tucked away from “hustle and bustle”. You can hear the bells from the church which adds to the overall atmosphere.
Peter is an excellent host, and very prompt to respond to any queries.
The welcoming bottle of milk and wine was appreciated after a long day of travel.
Would definitely stay again if we ever have the opportunity.

Captain's Cabin was a lovely spot, removed from the bustle of what can be a touristy town, but with easy access to everything one would want. Excellent.

Our stay at Captan Cottage was everything we expected. The cottage exudes charm at every level. It also provides you with a great example of what’s like to live in a grade 2 property (e.g., narrow challenging stairs). Location was also spectacular being right in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water. I highly recommend this property for anyone wishing to experience the Cotswolds.

Very ideally located, carefully selected decor and easy to communicate with the owners. The stairs are challenging as described by the listing. Anyone with any type of mobility issue needs to be aware of the fact that both bedrooms are up very narrow steps.

The house was exactly as described in the listing. I can tell from my chats that Peter is truly a quality person. Location was awesome. House was clean and safe. Everything you could ever need was clearly laid out in the emailed PDF before arrival. Communication was excellent. We will be back for sure. 10+ stars is not enough. Cheers!

We loved the cabin the stairs were a bit tricky but this jus added to the charm of the cabin. The neighbors were great friendly and helpful!

Such a cozy space with a fully stocked kitchen and bath and so much atmosphere! Walking distance to all of the shops, with a footpath directly behind the property to wander further. We enjoyed a fire in the wood stove every evening. The only downside were the beds, which were uncomfortable in our opinion. But all in all, a nice stay with a very responsive host.

Fantastic property in 'Venice of the Cotswold.' Great access to public paths, close to many good restaurants, a block from the bus stop to Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh. Just an hours drive to Oxford, Bristol and Stratford-Upon-Avon. Do pay attention to the owners note about ceiling height. The stairs could be tricky for less mobile seniors.

Great location. Clean. Owner responded quickly to a minor issue. Stairs are not for someone with mobility issues. I would stay there again.

Captain’s Cabin
Great location, charming property, beautifully updated kitchen and bathroom. The one potential issue would be for anyone with mobility issues as there are very steep and narrow stairs from one floor to the next. They add to the charm but people should be aware. Wonderfully responsive host.

Wonderful Cottage in a Perfect Location
We were extremely happy with our stay at Captain’s Cabin. The property was cozy, very clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. Location is definitely the best feature. Nestled at the end of a quiet street, we only had a 5-10 minute walk to grab breakfast at a wonderful bakery (Bakery on the Water) or the many great Bourton-on-the-Water restaurants for dinner. We also were able to walk to 2 nearby villages via a walking path that began close to the cabin. The location was also excellent for day trips to Bath, Oxford and several other towns that we wish we had more time to visit. If you don’t want to leave town, there are many great shops and attractions right in town. Communication with Peter prior to and during our arrival was great as well.

Lovely Cotswolds Base
We’ve had Peter’s cottage reserved on and off since 2020. Were so glad we finally made it this year! It was just what we were looking for. We enjoyed the cottage immensely even though we all bumped a head at least once. (We’re all tall.). Otherwise it had everything we needed including being a very short walk into the village. A great base to explore several other villages from too.
