The character of the building and the host were exceptional. There's a cinema in the Playhouse and an owner who's forgotten more about film than I'll ever know. The room was clean, with a fantastic shower. Food from the Playhouse was also great. Highly recommended for anyone passing through the area.

Andrew was fantastic could not do enough cooked us a lively dinner then when went into the theatre and watched old reruns on original west side story then the new film what a lovely historical place had a great stay

The classiest place to stay in Barraba: excellent communication, warm welcome, comfortable room with a view of the main drag, well insulated from sound of passing trucks, lots to explore in the hotel with an informative host; freshly cooked breakfast. we were very happy to stay!

Few guests, so no dinner offered: Commercial Pub meal was just ok.

The relaxed ambience of the Playhouse was complimented by Andrews warm hospitality. Can highly recommend breakfast in the dining room.

Andrew was great very welcoming and full of information, He's done a great job renovating the building!

while I did not meet the owner Andrew as he had a medical emergency he and his staff went overboard ensuring or arrival would be smooth and hassle free which it was. The Playhouse is a boutique hotel which a normal traveler as I would not generally stay at however when I was researching accommodation I saw the Playhouse and just had to give it a go. Barraba is a country town that appears to struggling and it is good to see people like Andrew taking on projects like the Playhouse to generate interests in the town. We dined at the hotel’s restaurant and while the menu was small the food was first class and the restaurant staff were to be commended. I just wish I lived closer so I could return on a regular basis.

the fact I only stayed one night

Very friendly, entertaining and accommodating host, that made us feel at home. The dinner and breakfast was lovely and location in the middle of the quiet town was superb.

it’s a nicely restored country hotel, complete with its own small cinema all in keeping with the art-deco style. But the highlight without doubt was the hospitality provided by the owner/host Andrew, and his small team of staff.

Very comfortable modern room, however facilities were very limited and so were practicalities like bench space. Made it difficult as travelling with food and the town didn't offer many options.

Didn't provide any kitchenette facilities except tea/coffee, and bench space was very limited. Practicalities for travellers didn't seem to have been been thought through.
