Our second stay…convenient…great design detail. Should be in a magazine. Used the courtyard for breakfast coffee and afternoon cocktail.

Quiet; comfortable, clean and perfect location near beach and town
Red tide not apparent or an issue at this time
2.0
We came to enjoy the great beach but the red tide made it impossible to even be on the beach due to coughing and many large dead fish. Beaches were totally deserted because of the red tide conditions.

Wonderful stay, all you need is within 2-5 min walk - slopes can’t be closer really. We had a great vacation.

The accommodation was perfect for my wife and I and located just a few blocks from downtown and excellent restaurants. It was very clean and just as advertised on VRBO. We visited the area to take in some Spring training baseball games and relax at the beach. The baseball was good but, while located just a block from the beach, we were unable to spend time on the beach due to the red tide that is impacting the region.

Perfect casita with everything we needed. Two minutes to the beach for sunsets. Bike and walking trails steps away. Great restaurants within blocks. Low key and restorative. Plenty of privacy with a very responsive host. We’ll be back!

The casita delivers! It is calm, it is quiet and beautifully cared for. We’ve visited Boca Grande for 30 years, this being our first stay in the Historic District. Our 2 week visit, for the purpose of walking, perfect. Daily beach walks, sunset. Off to Whiddens, down to Hudson’s, past the Inn-all a very pleasurable walk from the casita. The grounds are green, tended, a lovely private oasis. The interior, so comfortable. We found everything to be as it should be (and as described and pictured), and our host was very attentive to assure we were comfortable. This is a special place with historic value to Boca Grande. Very enjoyable!

This casita/guest house is in an excellent location. It’s very easy to get to the beach, shops and restaurants. This was the 2nd year we stayed at this quaint little house because we enjoyed it so much the year before. However, this year we had an issue that we thought was worth sharing.
Please note: On the afternoon this happened, the owner did apologize and credit us the equivalent of 2 nights.
One afternoon, a week into our stay we heard a splashing sound coming from the bathroom. What we found was a large, adult sized lizard (after doing some online research, I think it was an Argentinian Black & White Tegu lizard based on the color, head and size) peering at us from inside the toilet bowl. Seconds later it dove head first back down into the toilet and disappeared.
We immediately let the ownership know what had happened and were told this issue has occurred before. We were told the reason lizards get into the casita's toilet is because there isn't a screen on the toilet vent. Without a screen on the vent, iguanas and other reptiles that hang out within the clay roof tiles have access into a home's toilet and sewer system. They don't have a screen on the vent, "because the vent is under the roof and inaccessible unless we tear off the whole roof to find it".
My husband is an architect and around construction all the time so after we returned home to IL, we sent a message with his professional recommendation on how to remedy the situation without having to touch the roof. We are hoping the ownership looks into this possible solution so that no one else has this happen to them. As of today (3 weeks later), there has been no recognition or response regarding my husband’s suggestion.
Unfortunately, we didn’t feel we could stay there after this occurrence as it’s the only bathroom and didn’t know if the reptile would reappear again so we moved over to a friend’s house for the rest of our time in BG.
Before this happened, we had already booked a stay for next year. Due to the lack of response and a concern that this may be an ongoing and unresolved problem, we have canceled this reservation.
If the ownership of the casita had assured us that they would remedy this issue, I would not be including our lizard experience in this review and would not have canceled our 2023 reservation.

This small backyard cottage was a perfect spot for my wife and I to R&R for a week. It's 2 blocks from the gulf and 2 blocks to downtown Boca and across the street from the Boca walking, biking, cart path. It's private and quiet. One suggestion is to post a map of the property showing 1st Street, parking spot, the main house, side entrance gate, the VRBO cottage, and the laundry room. Logistics a little fuzzy if you don't know the property. Maybe send this with reservation confirmation and post same on the wall in the kitchenette.

This is our fourth stay at the casita. As always it is exceptionally clean and well equipped, about 200 yards from the beach and five minute walk into town. We’ll be back!

I was in town solo for wedding and the Inn was booked. The location of the casita was great. I could walk everywhere I needed to go. The place was very clean and comfortable. I didn't use the kitchen, but it was nice. The bathroom and bedroom were clean and updated.
