Appartement confortable à 20 mn du centre historique
Appartement très agréable, joliment décoré, rue commerçante, 20 mn de la vieille ville.
Entrée et parties communes mal entretenues, dignes de Shinning ! Heureusement c’était Halloween ! Dommage cela gâche un peu l’arrivée surtout le soir !

Nightmare to get in; a bunch of lies; toilet door lets the smells go through; old and turning stairs
The flat is large and well furnished
I use booking.com since about 10 years; we travel a lot. Never been into such a nightmare, nor heard so many lies. Plus: at more than 120 Eur/night, we did not expect AN OLD AND TURNING STAIRCASE, a TOILET DOOR THAT LETS THE SMELL ENTER THE KITCHEN (see photo) Usually, the booking.com listing shows the full address. Then on arrival, either somebody greets us, or we receive instructions to get in. Here: • This listing has street name, without number. So, I emailed the host for the number, two days in advance. NO REPLY. • We arrived in the street and called the two numbers on the confirmation email. On both, we got an answering machine; we left a message, asking to be called. NOBODY CALLED BACK. • After one hour of useless calls and SMS messages to the host, we called booking.com. • We got Amira, a very helpful girl, who managed to contact the host; they gave the street number, 37, and said somebody was arriving. But at 37 there’s a door without any bell; to open it, you need either a code or a key; WE HAD NEITHER. • So we waited and waited, till Amira called us, saying the host had arrived. But we were STILL IN THE STREET, IN FRONT OF THE CLOSED DOOR AT 37 • Amira called (again!) the host and at last a lady came down and opened us. We had been waiting for about 3 HOURS IN THE COLD and my wife was not well. This lady claimed that booking.com had not communicated them our booking. Amira, still at the phone, told me that IT WAS NOT TRUE • I asked the lady to speak to Amira via my phone. But she only told Amira that everything was OK, in English. All previous conversations had been in French or in Italian, so I guess the lady hoped that I do not understand English; she became nervous when I started to speak English too... The lady also said she had tried to phone me, but THIS WAS NOT TRUE. (She had my number, correct; we tested it, together). She said the confirmation email had a wrong number; but I had phoned TWO numbers, not just one...

Very good
First of all (as we travel a lot) we believe it is really necessary to acknowledge the host. It can make or break your vacation. The host was GREAT, always available, patient and kind. This was a really important part of our stay. Access to the appartement was easy. But please remember it is on the second floor without lift. There are a lot of free parking area around but just pay attention to the local rules to avoid a fine. The Appartment was clean and functional, very nice and neat. It is very well organized with all necessary amenities. It has also a certain sens of “class”... very cute. You are very close to the center of Saint-Malo in car or with the bus that is just down the appartement. You can shop around for food or necessaries (boulangerie, pharmacie, bureau de tabac, carrefour market...) within less than 500m. We have spent only 2 nights there and we were worried with the « 18 o’clock lockdown » due to COVID. So the first night we ordered Mc’Donalds for the kid’s via internet and we ordered a seafood platter in the afternoon in Saint Malo. The second night we just did a take-away from the Thai restaurant downstairs. Also Saint Malo is a great place to discover on its own: you have the beach but also a unique medieval scenery with beautiful views, plenty of historical value and good shopping too... In 2 days we’ve also been able to visit Dinard, Dinan and Le Mont Saint Michel (only 50 min away). We had a very good value on the price when we booked this apartment so we were worried we might be disappointed. But we had a great stay. We really recommend this apartment.

Great value for money in a lovely, cosy flat in walking distance Intra-Muros and beaches
Very well thought through process to get access to apartment, easy with codes. No personal contact needed. Apartment is calm with bedroom out to the back. Good and free parking spaces nearby, unloading in front of door no problem, either. Very well maintained flat with everything you need, modern kitchen (induction stove, dishwasher), great bathroom. Washing machine in separate room on same floor also a good idea (no noise). Fast and reliable Wifi (5G), we worked with two laptops home office with no problems, including video conferences. Great for couples.
Nothing big, just one comment on wardrobe space. That is a bit tight, only one small wardrobe and no drawers. But there is plenty of space in the living room to keep your suitcase open or accessible, for instance.

Great apartment near Old Saint-Malo
The apartment was well laid out and decorated. The location is very good as it is surrounded by many shops and stores. It is a 15 minute walk to Saint-Malo intra-muros. Free parking nearby.
Lack of soundproofing between rooms.
