Our goal was to provide a comfortable and luxurious "private home". We believe, you will agree that we have accomplished this. There are FOUR Entertainment areas and FOUR Private BR's.You can get lost with all the space 2,800 sq'.
The Grand Front Porch of this "private vacation home" Welcomes the SSI Trolley Tour that passes daily year round. Make sure you wave to the tourists on the SSI Trolley & to the locals as they bike by. Here you will experience True Southern Hospitality! Enjoy your mint julep or a glass of sweet tea. Sitting under the front porch you are shaded by magnificent grand live oaks and protected from the Georgia rains.
The night landscape lighting makes you feel you have arrived at an oasis, outdoor up lights flood the yard and showcase the beautiful palms and century old live oaks.
Parking is not a worry,
the private drive leads you to the garage.
There are no other homes towering over the house or deck..
The beautiful front walkway leads you to the Grand Front Porch.Step through the front door to enjoy the naturally sun lite, Open Designed Living Room, Kitchen & Dining Room. This large space allows for all to have a memorable social gathering. Prepare a Sunday Brunch or Family Diner and overflow onto the Front Porch & 2nd Side Deck.
The layout affords privacy and comfort for 4 families. The 3 BR's on the main level have a split floor plan.The Private Master is off the DR. A separate hallway off the Great Room (Other side of the house main level) splits the 2 Quiet BR's/baths.
The huge upstairs is completely private showcasing "the Ultimate Manly Game Room" and 4th BR.
The afternoon sun is so inviting to read a book or put the kids in for a nap. No need to rent 4 hotel rooms
or 2 condos. The perfect "private home".
All 4 Bedrooms were decorated with NEW furniture, window treatments and new plush mattresses with luxurious bedding. The split Master BR Suite has a King size bed,a 42" plasma HD TV & DVD. There is a large Spa Bath with a whirlpool jetted tub, double vanities, separate shower & walk in closet. The 2 other downstairs BR's have queen beds, walk in closets and full Bathrooms. There is a private 4th BR upstairs with 1 Queen size Bed and 2 upholstered twin beds.
The new elegant, Professional Pool Table (adults only) has arrived. "The Manly Game Room" 28'x 20' upstairs has everything your little manly heart desires: Leather Sofas, Leather chairs around the card/game table, dart board, games, a 50" plasma TV,DVD player & Georgia bean bag toss.
The Ladies can cheer you on or have a "Ladies Getaway" downstairs for a quiet ladies night, sipping
your June Bug cocktails.

EAST BEACH @ The Historic Coast Guard Station,.96 miles away, is a shady 5 min. bike ride away or a 2 minute car drive. The white,sandy swimming beach has lifeguards,parking,outdoor showers & restrooms. (see MAP)
The VILLAGE/PIER, 1.74 miles away, has eating establishments & unique shopping.It's a slow as molasses 15 minute bike ride or 3 min drive.
There are bike rentals through out the Island. SSI is only 12 miles by 3 miles.
SSI is known for its biking paths that will take you on adventures to all points, the south end, slave cabins, and north end. Frederica Rd continues to the north end a 10 mile ride. It has lovely shaded meandering paths with a nature trail.(see MAP)

Plenty of space for our family of 4 plus two additional teen age kids that joined us. Having the extra space and pool table upstairs was great. The house is in a good location and close to everything. Wonderful host who was always quick to respond to a question.

The property was as described. It was centrally located and the atmosphere was conducive to just staying put if that's what we wanted. We loved the house. it was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. We would like to return

This vacation home is beautifully landscaped with a large comfy front porch and side deck for dining al-fresco. The outside swing is lovely. 2car garage has a small propane Weber grill. Bedrooms were very comfortable. 3 bedrooms well spread out. 2 with onsuite baths and a full hall bath. 2nd floor game room is great for spreading out and extra bedroom space for children. Main living area (living room and dining room) is comfortable with a nice kitchen. 3 flat screen TVs and a laundry room. There was one 1-year-old in our group, and we found the house and grounds are better geared for adults and older children. The house is about 1.5 mi from 2 beaches and close to food shopping.
There were a few minor inconveniences, and although provided with the parts, we had to fix the dryer door.
This was the first 30 day vacation I've ever taken, and to spend it at the beach was wonderful.

Great stay, great owner.
We had a wonderful visit to SSI and the property for our needs well. The front porch and landscaping creates a nice, oasis atmosphere. A quick walk around the corner leads you to Southern Soul BBQ, a definite must!
Barbara was wonderful and responsive. She had great recommendations and was always available. Would definitely recommend this property for time on SSI.

Great house and location!
Family of four lived it and we could have fit 4 more easily. Plenty of room. Great accommodations. Close to the beach. Only bad thing was rainy weather...but that's not the house's fault.

My family and I had a wonderful stay in this very nice home. It is in a great location with easy access to the beach, wonderful restaurants and grocery stores. It could easily sleep 8-10 without feeling crowded. Thanks, Richard Heard

Absolutely a beautiful home with " a view to remember "
Absolutely a Beautiful home so many amenities, A home with a view to remember. Here you want need anything but your beach attire. And you are right in the middle of all that St. Simons as to offer . And if you have children or Grrands a fenced in backyard for yours and theirs safety. Upstairs the bonus room for the adult family . I must say she thought of everything for a fun filled vacation . We were there for our daughters wedding that was located at the King and Prince ,where the local public beach is located. If you are looking for a beautiful place with all the luxuries this is it.

Home away from home
A large beautiful home situated in the heart of St Simons not far from anything and in walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. The house offers everything you would need and the owner Barbara is so helpful and obliging taking away any stress of booking this home. The highlight for us was the beautifully landscaped gardens surrounding the home, it offered complete privacy and gave you many areas to relax and enjoy whether a coffee in the morning, a good place to read or enjoy a glass of wine and snack or even eat dinner out on the deck for good food and conversation with friends and family. Everything about this home made this holiday very memorable.

Great quiet place on SSI
Barbara the owner was very complete in directions and instructions. Book on site was very helpful. Kitchen well stocked with what you need, lots of good linens and chairs and sofa were great for relaxing. Beds very comfortable and everything was as described. No reservations about returning again in the future.

Great place!
My family (children and grandchildren) had a wonderful week. House included everything we needed plus MORE! We were close by restaurants, stores and the beach. Great place for families with people of all ages. Barbara was so very helpful in supplying information about the area. No complaints at all.

Awesome!
My family (hubby, two teen sons, one teen nephew, plus two more boys and my brother and my mom :) stayed for a week. Everything we needed was there - from kitchen utensils, to bath towels, to floats. We could walk to the Redfern shops, where we ate at Catch 228 - which was very good. We could also walk to Southern Soul - which is NOT to be missed! We were a short drive from the beach, pier, and more shops. We ate at Barbara Jeans, where you could order anything and it will be great 😉 We had three vehicles with our group and had no problems coming or going. Our first day we took a tour - which helped us have an idea of the things we wanted to do or see in more detail later in the week. We would highly recommend staying here to really anyone! Maybe we will make it a tradition!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This house is perfect. The inside is wonderfully decorated, the bed very comfortable, the landscaping beautiful, the front porch a pleasure to drink coffee in the morning and relax before bedtime, the list goes on and on. The location is central to everything you could want to do, beach, shopping, pier, lighthouse, exploring the other islands around the area. It is a very short car ride, bicycle ride, or rent a golf cart - you are a short distance from everything. We personally enjoyed exploring with the golf cart. You can load beach stuff, change of clothes, etc and spend all day driving around to all the beautiful sites on the island.
Make sure to try Southern Soul BBQ and Wake Up Coffee in Redfern Village. Our favorite place to eat dinner was at Coastal Kitchen at Morningstar Marina. Make sure to get the local shrimp and oysters - Amazing!!!
And if all of that isn't enough, Barbara was so helpful and pleasant to deal with.
There is no way you can go wrong with this house or Barbara. We will be back and will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Don't fence me in
Had an awesome visit for a family Thanksgiving vacation in St. Simmons Island.
The house was perfect for entertaining inside and out.
It had everything you could think off to make our stay hassle free.
Location is great . Near Redfern village and of course Southern Soul BBQ is just a short walk away.
Can't wait to get back to "don't fence me in".

Enchanting!
The house was great and met all our family's needs. The landscaping was beautiful. The house was centrally located to all activities we enjoyed on the island. We also enjoyed playing pool and darts in the fantastic game room. We hope to return again sometime. Thanks for helping make a wonderful vacation for our family!

Great Southern charmer
We had a wonderful time! It was an easy drive to East Beach (we easily could have biked it in ~ 10 min if not for all of our beach stuff we were toting). The game room was a big hit with our teens...and my husband...he played pool with them nightly. A local coffee shop ( Wake Up!) was about a 5 min bike ride away...delicious scones there too...loved the convenience of things close by. The pier was such fun...about a 15 min bike ride. The kitchen was well stocked and the house had everything we needed for the week. Very comfortable!

Conversations on the Porch!
Great conversations on the large front porch, overlooking a beautifully landscaped yard. We played many games of pool in the game room. Four bedroom, three baths and casual open floor living. Clean, elegant, comfortable home. We would rent the home again if we planned to stay a week.

A Wonderful Rental!
This home was a great fit for my family (7 adults, one child and two small dogs) as we combined my son's wedding on SSI with a week-long Spring vacation.
The bedrooms were arranged to allow for excellent privacy. The open kitchen and main living area was spacious and the kitchen well equipped. The upstairs area is exactly as described. The large TV allowed for those who wanted "no talking" during the NCAA basketball tournament, Braves baseball and The Masters to be isolated from those who wanted to enjoy socializing downstairs.
We enjoyed morning and evening walks around the many nearby side streets, including walking to the "Bloody Marsh" battle site. After walking to a nearby BBQ place on our first day, those who played golf returned for takeout and a short walk home several times. We spent a good deal of time on the front porch and/or the side deck.
Driving less than 1.5 miles for sunrises at East Beach, walking on the pier and shopping in the Village and picking up a quart of the delicious crab soup a couple of times at the Crab Trap added to our enjoyment.
The owner was most helpful in answering questions prior to our visit and continued to communicate (via email) during our stay. She even emailed us with a list of clothes our forgetful daughter left behind and made arrangements to mail.
Very nice home, clean and well organized, nice location for walks, walking distance to the heart of the Island, a short drive (or long walk) to the beach and Village and a very helpful owner helped to make this a most pleasant visit.

New Years 2013
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, it was even more charming than the pictures. One family member said it looked like it was straight out of Southern Living, with attention to detail and tastefully placed. There was everything you would want in the upgraded kitchen and open floor plan. It was perfect for the family gathering we had. The yard is very private, gorgeously landscaped, with a two car garage and the weather was perfect for us to sit on the deck in December! We had lots of fun playing pool in the "Man Cave", with many other games available also. We have been coming to SSI for many years and would return in a heartbeat to your home. What a respite! Thank you again for a wonderful experience.

Beautiful home!
We had a wonderful stay in this home. Our daughter was getting married and we needed a home with at least 2 bedrooms on the main floor because of aging parents/grandparents coming for the wedding. The house and location were perfect. We even held rehearsal dinner in the large living, kitchen and breakfast areas. We had about 25 people for dinner that night. Everyone commented on the house and how beautiful it is. Our families will never forget the week we stayed there. The home was sparkling clean and very well maintained. . The owners are easy to contact and very friendly.

We made the PERFECT choice. If you are looking for a spacious, comfortably, high end, vacation home with the BEST location in the BEST part of SSI, look no further! The house is beautiful and has everything a visitor could need or want. Booking was extremely easy,and the owner was very responsive to questions,etc. None of us wanted to leave. Beautiful property- fantastic owner!
This was our first trip to St. Simons, and we were not disappointed. Barbara went above and beyond by sending us information about the island and what we could expect when we arrived. The house was gorgeous! The landscaping in the yard was so well maintained, and we really enjoyed seeing the white fence when we rode up on the bikes we rented (you must rent bikes when visiting!).
The house itself was clean, and so well organized. It was like being in our home, but at the beach. We never had any issues cooking or finding anything- it was all labeled, and easy to find!
The house itself was within walking distance to stores and restaurants. We enjoyed walking up to Starbucks in the morning for exercise and coffee!

A perfect home away from home!
We stayed here with another couple for four wonderful days on SSI. This beautiful home is tastefully decorated with all the necessities and much more. All four bedrooms are large with king or queen beds, two with en suite bathrooms. This would be perfect for small groups like ours or larger groups with a few children. The garage made coming and going even better. With all the great restaurants on SSI we never once used the beautiful kitchen, but the open concept would make that too a fun filled experience. We will recall and recommend this gorgeous private home for years to come. Thanks to Barbara for her advice on what to see and do in the Golden Isles. Can't wait to come back again and again!
