We had a wonderful stay at the Beach Barn. While a little on the small size, it was just right for the two of us and our two small beagles. And the location and view of the price was priceless!We loved it so much that we have already put a deposit in for the same week in August for 2024!

We stayed at the Beach Barn for our honeymooon. It was just the two of us with our two dogs - it was perfect! We had everything we needed to cook, lots of space to store our beach gear, and plenty of room to relax. Being right on the beach was so nice for morning and evening beach walks.

The Beach Barn's best feature is the oceanfront location. The large deck is a definite plus. Unfortunately, despite paying $225 for an early check in, the house was not clean. There were visible dog hairs on the window seats and one set of sheets (already on the bed) and dust bunnies in the main living area. The one AC unit works well but you have to freeze in the living room to keep the bedrooms cool. Future renters should note that there is NO storage (drawers or closets or hangers) in the one bedroom and only hooks (and dog hair covered window seat) in the other bedroom. There were only two of us staying, but if you had couples in each room, there is no where to store luggage let alone unpack. Not a dealbreaker, but good to know. There is a public beach access right next to the house, which was a surprise. This was not disruptive for us but would be good to know ahead of time. The kitchen supplies were just ok. We did not do any major cooking, but were glad for the one cutting board. None of the knives were great for slicing tomatoes, let alone cantaloupe and watermelon. Again, the beachfront location cannot be beat, and the house was just fine for two people and two small dogs. As for Carolina Shores--it just depended on who you got on the phone. Some were very helpful, others did not seem interested in answering questions.

Perfection! Right on the ocean! Beautiful sunrises. Inside of the house is very nice. No complaints of any kind. Next time I go to OBX this is where I hope to stay again. Very private too for being right on the beach. Thanks for letting me rent this lovely place!

This cute, little cottage is PERFECT!! Great location - close to everything; clean; decorated beautiful; comfortable furniture & beds; stocked kitchen; and THE VIEW!!! Loved sitting on the deck, enjoying our morning coffee & evening cocktails - and the dolphins entertained us almost daily. And our little dog loved it too!! Don't hesitate booking this home - we're already planning our return visit next year!!!Whenever Bill is ready to sell his property we'd definitely be interested in buying!! ❤️

There are no words to describe how perfect this house is for a family beach vacation. House is clean, location is amazing, has everything you need to hole up for a week and forget life and just enjoy your family and the beach. This was a 2nd time staying at this house and will most definitely be back. I would recommend bringing a little handheld vacuum with you, sand gets EVERYWHERE.

This beach house is literally on the beach. The waves put you to sleep at night. It’s the perfect ocean get away.
I must say that we ended up paying almost twice as much as we would have if we booked directly with the rental company. But it was worth it to have found the place through Expedia/ VRBO

Couldn't Be Better!
We loved this house! The location and views are absolutely unbeatable. The living space was both cozy yet spacious and there is plenty of room for the whole family to spread out and enjoy the incredible ocean views. We loved falling asleep to the sound of waves every night and spending every day enjoying the beach and that beautiful deck.
Some notes: The one bathroom would be tight for a family but just for my wife and I it was absolutely perfect. I also highly recommend *not* booking through VRBO and going through the rental company Caroline Shores -- it'll save you hundreds of dollars.

The location of this property has to be one of the best on the OBX(and we used to live out there). Sitting on the deck was so peaceful with the waves crashing super close. Great furnishings and very comfortable. The size was perfect for Me, my wife and our boxer. We'll be back for sure!!
