Nice view, close to the city centre

I am writing this review 21.2.2023, more than 1 month after the end of my trip to Cabo Verde, so I will not remember all details: The view is indeed as in the fotos and it is nice when you arrive. However, I have rarely spent time to watch the view. It is mostly quiet, despite of the complaints from other guests on booking.com. The price was good for staying there more than a week over christmas and new year alone with Genius discount. The owner is knowledgeable and can provide information and help in several languages. Mindelo is very small so there is hardly any place which can be considered "far" or "remote".

There is a construction site in front. Only once in the morning they woke me up, later no disturbances. You should ask and address this. I fear once the building is finished it could take a bit of the view and light. The German owner is a bit too "besserwisserisch". I had to find out by myself to what extent his information was actually a bit exaggerated or outdated or incomplete in some aspects. The comfort of the beds is not satisfactory. In one of the beds I could stay for about 5 nights but then it started to be quite uncomfortable (matrass etc.). Also slight allergic skin reactions. I have stayed in a view appartments and hotels later in various places of the town which were much better, although all more expensive.

This is by far the best accommodation we had in Capo Verde ( in 1+mo). The place is sparkling clean and the view from the balcony is really nice. WiFi was working above the average and everything was better than presented. The apartment is really big and spacious, well equipped with everything someone needs for proper living there. It was a calm and peaceful atmosphere and unlike other apartments, in this one you could see a personal note, like it is made for someone to live there not just to unpack their suitcase. I left the best part to the end, but the host is a very kind, inspiring person. Communication with Rafael was very easy and his desire to go beyond made us feel like home. Definetly a place we would return whenever landing in Sao Vicente.

Outstanding location. Exceptionally well-equipped and comfortable apartment / kitchen. Good internet connection (wifi). Sweet and friendly staff (Alinda) and exceptionally helpful and experienced owner (Rafael). Wonderful views from the apartment itself and from the balcony. We would come back at any time!

Then it might be a walk from the center or the harbor with heavy shopping bags, as the streets are very steep - but in that case you just take a taxi for 1½ EUR!
