Amber Ski-in/out Hotel & Spa

The Location in Saas Fee. The balcony room they gave me, with amazing views. The breakfast. The staff.

This we the perfect corner for a weekend get away. Normaly I come in the Winter for Snowboarding, this time hiking.

Everything was good

Loved everything about it! Stunning view from our room, perhaps the best in all of Saas Fee. Loved the lounge area downstairs, where there was a coffee machine, kitchen area with a fridge & microwave. It made the holiday more affordable as a family of 5. The Coop in the village is incredible (not like at home) so we would take food back there every other night and heat it up and then eat out at local restaurants in between. The breakfast choice was amazing, with a beautiful view of the river. The staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and very spacious! The spa was modern and well equipped.

The only slight downside was the outside terrace. It has the most wonderful view but it isn’t used and had no tables and chairs. We would have definitely used it in the evenings if maintained.

Great location, good ski room, nice large room, nice decor, clean, comfy beds. Hot tub in the room was a bit quirky but we made good use of it on extra cold days.

Where to begin… this is basically an Airbnb that markets itself as a premium hotel. There’s about 5 staff in total who are doing their best to keep everything running. There was no reception staff on most days. This would be ok if it was advertised as such (“serviced apartments”) but for the amount of money we paid we expected much better. Breakfast was a very plain buffet and there were no hot dishes made to order. There were no toiletries in the room or the spa (shower cap, body lotion etc) except for a 2-in-1 shampoo & shower gel. Thermostat was set at fixed temperatures - the room was cold at night and the spa relaxation room was also cold, we couldn’t make use of it after our sauna. I also injured myself in the spa because there is no step to get in/out of the outdoor hot tub. Glass door for the bathroom in the room was also stupid - there is nothing “romantic” about watching your partner take a #2! It just seems that they are doing the bare minimum while trying to cut corners and save costs wherever possible.
