Vous cherchez une escapade à la plage pratique et confortable? Pour y arriver, il ne nous faut que quelques minutes de Williamsburg et il n'y a pas de tunnels et la promenade coloniale a rarement des conducteurs en colère ou des embouteillages comme ceux que l'on trouve sur l'autoroute ou 158 à Nags Head.
Que vous aimiez jouer sur la plage de sable, vous dorer au soleil, vous asseoir dans une balançoire, vous asseoir dans un hamac, aller pêcher au crabe, pêcher ou faire du bateau, ou vous lover avec un bon livre ou vider un bon film, Getaway has tout ça. Avec un système de puits récemment mis à niveau et un mobilier comprenant de nouveaux oreillers, vous serez à l'aise et détendu à The Getaway.
Gloucester est toujours une communauté qui ressemble à une petite ville, un peu à la manière de Nags Head au début des années 80, avec de nombreux magasins et restaurants locaux, mais qui possède encore de belles franchises et des chaînes de restaurants si vous n’êtes pas aussi aventureux.
Habituellement loués à la semaine, nous pouvons prendre des dispositions spéciales pour un week-end ou une semaine fractionnée. Avez-vous de la famille qui vient en ville? Pourquoi ne pas les mettre ici?

This was a beautiful scenic property. Kids all loved the York River! Made for nice family photos. The host okayed my friend being there to visit my family and I, as she is from the area, one of the main reasons for my stay. Brian the gentelman who lived in the apartment next door was kind and helpful and gave us information about the York River. Lucy his dog was also very friendly.

Very well kept home, very clean. We went prepared with cleaning products, trash bags, tissue paper etc. they had everything there. When placing grocery orders for delivery the drivers went to the next street over so have your phone to help them get back to you have them take 2 rights and they will be at the house. we loved the peace and quiet that the property gave. The space was perfect for all of us. Had everything you need to cook. We took a crockpot and made meals in them as we were right at the beach. The kids loved the beach all day and at night they watched the moon. Neighbors were very friendly and accepting of the people coming in. Very quiet and relaxing!!! We are waiting to book again for next year! About 25 mins to Busch Gardens and about an 1hr and 20 to Virginia Beach. By boat about 1 hr. We totally loved the community beach its very private, we were down there by ourselves. Which is very enjoyable when traveling with kids. My 4 yr and 7 m old grandkids enjoyed it. Did not have to worry about where they are in a crowd of people at a very busy beach. Can't wait til next year!!! We are already counting down our days!!! Thank you very much to Greg he is wonderful to work with!!!

Very good for the price.
While the home well water may be drinkable , visitors should know it has a strong unpleasant metallic taste and smell. It is also slightly colored in a clear glass, and it had clearly left brown colored residues in the toilets making them look very unclean especially the toilet upstairs.
Home and Kitchen need to be better equipped, an electric kettle is advertised but was not seen anywhere. A basic hair dryer would have also been nice to find in the each of the full bathrooms.
The floor plan advertised in the pictures is misleading because one set of stairs is locked off and can’t be used to leave the room. In order to go downstairs from the bigger room with the futon and from the room with the single bed, you would have to walk through one of the other two rooms to get the stairs, disturbing their privacy.
There are a series of small steps throughout the home between rooms, while a wheelchair might be able to tackle them they are a big tripping hazard for elderly seniors in our group.
As other reviews have mentioned there were ants in the kitchen.
While we did not allow these issues to ruin our stay, they would have been nice to be aware of going into it for future guests/stays
The biggest plus is the view and location.

We mainly picked this property for the location, and we were mostly happy with that aspect of the stay. The property was convenient to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens while still being on the water. But there were neighboring properties very close by (literally sharing the lot), and while the neighbors were friendly, we didn't expect to be interacting with anyone. The house itself was quirky. The layout of the upstairs isn't ideal because you had to go through one of the bedrooms to access 2 other rooms, and our teens were not happy about that. There were also small steps up and down to all the rooms on the main floor, which we tripped on several times. And none of us were used to well water. Although we used the provided water cooler to drink, the smell of the well water made showering unpleasant, and we cooked with it at one point and the pasta was nearly inedible. And our friends complained that the upstairs bedroom with the queen bed, the mattress was very firm and uncomfortable, and the blinds would not close all the way so the sun woke them up early each day.These were all minor issues and some of us were more willing to overlook them than others, but my group would not choose to rent this property again if we were looking in the area.
