Grace's Place, a Real Maine Cottage
Grace's Place est une vraie maison du Maine, avec des sols en pin et une cheminée en pierre de travail. Parcourez le chemin d'une plage de sable et de pierre, lisez un livre sur le porche intérieur ou le pont extérieur avec une vue magnifique sur les îles Harpswell Sound, Bailey et Orr et l'océan ouvert au-delà, tandis que les enfants jouent dans la cour. C'est un endroit très calme, juste pour cela, allez-vous chercher, avec assez de place à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur pour éviter ce sentiment de «fièvre de cabine».
Cela dit, Grace's Place est proche de Brunswick avec son festival de musique et son théâtre musical, Bowdoin College et ses excellents restaurants; Freeport, avec LL Bean; Portland, avec l'équipe de baseball Sea Dogs et les superbes magasins et restaurants à proximité du front de mer.
Un amarrage en eau profonde est disponible pour votre bateau, ou un capitaine et 30 'voilier sont à proximité pour la location.

We loved our stay at Grace’s Place so much! The house is absolutely adorable and was the perfect fit for our family. John and Mary were so wonderful and made us feel right at home. We also loved the proximity to the bay and the incredible view. Overall, it was one of the most relaxing trips we’ve ever taken! 10/10 highly recommended!!

Great location. The views from the numerous porches and decks are simply spectacular. Quiet. Comfortable. A charming cottage near great restaurants and hiking.

Highly recommend! The cottage is homey and immaculate. We loved all the different porches. The area is so quiet and we were able to visit our favorite places nearby— Stover’s Cove, Pammy’s ice cream and The Dolphin. John is a wonderful host and very responsive. I wish you could swim in the little cove at the end of the path but it’s better for beach combing at low tide.

This was our second stay at Grace's Place. It would have been our third stay but we didn't book early enough in 2021 to beat the post COVID rush.
We love this house. My previous review describes the house, the amenities and how well it is maintained. This time I would like to talk about the location and the surroundings. The house has a beautiful view of the bay, Orr's Island, the Crib Bridge and Bailey's Island. The house is perfect for children. Our 5 and 7 year old grandchildren stayed with us. There is absolutely no traffic near the house. The yard is a vast mowed lawn with a swing. Children can safely run and play outside. There is an ice cream stand within walking distance for after dinner treats. A 5 mile drive brings you to great fried fish stand (Erica's) located on a working harbor, or a town beach with shaded picnic tables, or Stover Cove Beach or a grand stand with weekly concerts, or a large tidal pool that can entertain for hours.
15 minutes driving brings you to Brunswick and all the shopping a small city can offer. A 30 minute drive gets you to Popham Beach. The best family beach in Maine. (plenty of parking and clean bathroom/changing room.
The house was very comfortable for 4 adults and 2 children. We have rented many VRBO homes and this is our favorite by a big margin.
We are already planning our 2023 summer at Grace's Place.
