You notice the beautiful setting before you even get to your cabin (or "stuga" as it is known locally). The cabin itself has a great view over the lake, and was surprisingly comfortable: it even has a dishwasher! The kitchen was very well-equipped, including with everything you need to bake a cake, if you are so inclined. There are plenty of activities, though we spent most of our time relaxing on the cabin's porch enjoying the lake view and BBQs, and taking a few hikes in the surrounding forest.
It was unusual for us to have to bring our own bedding, though we understand this is common practice when renting cabins (or stugas) like these. It was just as unusual for us to be expected to clean the place completely before departing, barring the risk of being charged a large cleaning fee. If you don't travel by car, the bus ride can feel long and the 30-minute walk from the closest bus stop can be difficult with heavy luggage. (A 5 minute taxi ride costing 250 kr is excessively expensive.) The activities feel a bit expensive, especially the sauna fee.

Falun Strandby Främby Udde is a beautiful place. The cottages are spacious, well arranged and clean. We had a wonderful view of the lake. There a lot of activities, but unfortunately we were not there long enough to take advantage of very many of them.
The curtains did not completely cover the windows, so bring an eye mask.

Location and views magnificent. Close to Carl Larsson Garden which was the purpose of our visit. Good walks in the area and there appears to be amply water sports - but we didn’t partake.
Restaurant closed at 5pm on our first night. But the reception pointed us towards the local Coop so all was well.

The location besides the lake and in the woods is just amazing. the cottage was cozy and well furnished with the essentials. the area was peaceful and quite and well suited for a getaway.
The 'second room' was just an open space upstairs with a bed with no door or curtains. hence no privacy in that room at all. should have been more clear about that in the property details.
the wifi was absolute rubbish. it did not work in our cottage, and we got the code for other cottages and it was so slow it was unuseable.
the pillows definitely need a change now, they seem to have been beyond their age.
