Best Hostel

The location was a 15 minute walk to Thamal , the staff were super friendly and so helpful, they can organize anything for you and nothing is too much trouble, they consistently go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Great place to stay on a budget

It may look a little run down in places but the staff make up for this

En famille, nous avons passé 2 nuits au Best Hôtel, et il porte vraiment bien son nom : c’est le BEST ! 😍 Sunny est un hôte merveilleux. Il est très serviable et nous a tout de suite mis à l’aise, pour que nous puissions nous sentir comme à la maison. La nourriture est très bonne. L’endroit est agréable, avec des espaces intérieurs et extérieurs pour manger, travailler ou simplement se poser. Je recommande vivement cet endroit ! ❤️ Merci à Sunny ainsi qu’au reste de l’équipe pour leur gentillesse et leurs sourires. 🙏

Both nights and both early mornings were very noisy, mostly due to other guests, slamming doors, shouting, trampling up and down the stairs. They even smoked inside the hostel, very disrespectful. There were also loud noises from the nearby buildings (schools, etc.). You have to ask for hot water each time before showering. The first day this worked fine, the second day the water was only barely lukewarm, even after some waiting time. Location is far from sights, pollution is generally horrible in Kathmandu, so walking around the area is not a nice option. Sunny, the manager (?), offered us airport transfer for 20 USD when he whatsapped us!!! This is a crazy price, it's only 6km from the hostel to the airport. We found a taxi ourselves and paid 400 NPR (about 3 USD). It leaves a bitter taste when he tried to overcharge his guests like this! We would like to stress that the young lady at reception was the exact opposite: kind, and always trying to help - thank you, we appreciate it!
