Hotel Diplomat Stockholm

Hotel Diplomat has a special charm and a lovely, cosy atmosphere. It is a little old-fashioned, but in the best possible way, with beautiful historical details that give the hotel its own unique character. I especially loved the elegant staircase, the beautiful stained-glass windows, the vintage lift and the cosy lounges with books, artwork and comfortable seating. There is a lovely combination of old-world elegance and modern comfort. My room was bright, clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection from the buffet as well as the option to order dishes from the à la carte menu. The hotel is also a lovely place for lunch. I visited with friends, and we received excellent service. The staff were genuinely friendly, welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The central location is another big advantage. Overall, a charming and welcoming hotel with a lot of personality. A lovely place to stay if you appreciate a cosy atmosphere, classic elegance and a touch of history.

Professional and lovely staff, excellent service. Building itself is the work of art. Overall public spaces are very calm, furnitures high design and ”old style”, I appreciated a lot. Delicious breakfast served into table. Great location.

Room was nice, but some points to develop: big television breaks harmony definitely. In this price level I wouldn’t like to see dust on a baseboards. Also, be aware, at least in weekend evenings there is terribly noisy traffic at Strandvägen until late night. So, if you need quiet environment, make sure your windows are not on side of street.

I liked the location, and the restaurant and café below. Also the receptionist named Zeynab was great and friendly.

Unfortunately, my stay at Hotel Diplomat Stockholm fell short of my expectations, both in terms of the room itself and, more importantly, the service I received. The room’s layout was disappointing, with considerable unused space that could have been better utilised to make the room more comfortable and functional. However, what left the most unpleasant impression was my experience with a male receptionist, who had a tanned complexion and a mole on his face. His attitude towards both my friend and me was unnecessarily rude and dismissive, particularly during a disagreement regarding a spa cancellation fee. I had not been informed of any cancellation charges, either when making the booking or when cancelling the appointment. What bothered me even more was the noticeable difference in how he treated us compared to other guests. While he was unfriendly and visibly irritated with us, he appeared considerably warmer, more welcoming and accommodating towards white guests. As Arab guests, this difference in treatment made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, and I could not help but question whether racial prejudice played a role. Regardless of his intentions, no guest should be made to feel that they are being treated differently because of their background. Furthermore, despite settling my bill upon checkout, the spa cancellation fee was charged to my credit card approximately two to three hours after my departure. To date, I have yet to receive a refund. I found this particularly unprofessional and concerning, especially given the earlier disagreement over a fee that had never been communicated to me. I would, however, like to acknowledge Zeynab, who was wonderful and took the time to call and apologise for what had happened. Her professionalism and kindness were genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, despite her efforts, the experience left a lasting negative impression.

La vue de la suite dans laquelle on a été upgradé était vraiment bien. Le petit déjeuner plutôt correct. La personne de la réception très sympathique et professionnel.

La première chambre que l'on a eue, une odeur de renfermé et une taille ridicule pour le prix proposé. Petit-déjeuner : la dame nous oblige à prendre une table non propre, et en plus le sol est sale et collant, les chaussures Chanel de ma femme ne l'ont que très peu apprécié.
