The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel & Bar

It was a last minute booking and arrived late evening. Was made to feel welcome from the moment I walked through the doors. I was only there two nights but the staff were attentive polite and extremely helpful. 10/10

The room was large (booked the executive). It seemed clean enough and good value.

Staff seemed quite short / irritated at our check-in despite checking in a normal time. It is on the main road so quite noisy.

Great location by the train station lovely railway hotel , wood panelling, great value for money

Food wasn't the best & seriously over priced, was told they could accommodate dairy/soya allergies & they could not which was disappointing for my son who could literally only have chicken & beans

Would of been nice if the cleaning staff didnt go through my stuff each time they went in the rooms, I don't know what cleaning they did apart from emptying the bin & making the bed, although the duvet & sheets wasnt changed. The bathroom had mould in the shower part The room I was given wasnt exactly what I booked & it was on the top floor, not good considering I had a small child with me & have a disability, if I had known it was going to be top floor i would have asked for a different room. Luckily there was a lift but there was a few times it wasnt working which did a number on my legs
