Holiday Inn Cambridge by IHG

Decor in the entrance, bar and restaurant all very well done. Large hotel with a pool which felt safe to stay at alone with my children.

Standard rooms carpet threadbare and bathroom was in need of renovation to the point where both of my children didn’t want to use the bath or shower as it looked dirty. I used the shower as I’m not as fussy and it was hot and the shampoo did foam up in the Cambridge water which was a bonus for me coming from a soft water area.

Room was dirty, had to be moved. Replacement room was dirty, had ti be moved to a room without the amenities i booked. Explained the situation on check out looking for an aknowledgement. Recieved none. Was told the room i was put in was recently decorated amd she preffered those rooms anyway. Also that the executive rooms are no better and that the name dont mean anything!! Also that the ckeaning staff had changes recently and that they were causing problems (not sure what i was supposed to do about that really). I complained at this attitude and finally was offered some IHG points, which were gratefully recieved. Bearing in mind with F+B Id spent 1k that week with you. I requested a copy of the invoice. Only to be told it was impossible to generate as i ised booking.com. I pointed out that ive stayed with you this way many times before and always recieved an invoice. The lady said shed send it immediatiely. 2 days later i still hadnt recieved it. I contacted them again and recieved an invoice immediately. Shambollic and way below the standards Ive come.to expect as a regular client and an IHG member.
