What a place Fabulous We could not find fault the sea views from our room ,Fab decor and cleanliness ,The Buffet and staff ,Lovely . The gardens and all facilities offered also without fault, What more can I say please visit ,You will not regret.

The location, the ambience and facilities were all wonderful. The rooms are very spacious and we got the sea view rooms which was simply magical. The property is a short walk away from St.Ives . There are plenty of things to do in the property.

The decor is a bit dated and there are no support handles to get in and out of the shower over bathtub, which is a fall risk for elderly people.

The restaurant: food was tasty and staff was excellent. The park is beautiful and well kept. We were given a room with a bit of ocean view.

I would not recommend staying at Tregenna Castle. Our room was certainly not designed to feel like a welcoming home away from home. First, you have to park your car in what looks like a farm courtyard, some distance from the castle. You then enter the castle through an unremarkable back door. The welcome at reception was acceptable but rather cold. We were then directed back outside to what looked like a converted barracks building, now housing a series of brand-new bedrooms. This was certainly not what we had imagined from the pictures on Booking.com. Very disappointing. Everything was new, but rather characterless: laminate flooring, uPVC windows, and so on. The bathroom light and extractor fan are activated by a motion sensor as soon as you open the door. The light is extremely bright, and the fan is very loud. Imagine having to use the toilet in the middle of the night! I had a hard time getting back to sleep, and the light and noise also woke my partner. The bathroom itself is spacious, but the sink is minuscule. If you want to splash water on your face, you either soak your pyjamas or bump your head against the shelf above the sink. Even brushing my teeth was uncomfortable. Hardly what we had imagined when booking a stay "at a castle". There were noises everywhere: the radiator, ventilation fans from several bathrooms, and even a washing machine! Needless to say, we avoided spending time in our room during the day. I had to wear earplugs both day and night. There is also a bright green light in the room that stays on all night, so bring a sleeping mask. Finally, the Wi-Fi connection is very unreliable. The restaurant has the elegance and atmosphere you would expect from a castle, but the rooms certainly do not.
