Taj Ganges Varanasi

The Taj Ganges is a lovely hotel, with beautiful, comfortable rooms and wonderful staff. We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel itself. Our first evening's buffet dinner was very good, as was breakfast the following morning. The chef was excellent, preparing a lovely omelette for me and poached eggs and pancakes for my husband. Everything was freshly cooked and delicious.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was rather inconsistent, which was a shame as it was the only thing that let the hotel down. Breakfast on our second morning was a completely different experience. My omelette was awful, with what appeared to be a clump of black pepper inside rather than properly mixed through. It looked most unappetising, and my husband's poached eggs were equally unappetising and not cooked properly. What frustrated us most was the lack of a breakfast menu. We're British visitors and were particularly keen to experience authentic Indian breakfasts. We noticed Indian guests being served some absolutely delicious-looking dishes, but of course, local guests would be familiar with what to order, whereas we had no idea what was available. Without a menu or any guidance from the staff, how were we supposed to know what we could ask for? We were actually told there wasn't a breakfast menu, yet when we had lunch at the restaurant, we discovered that the menu included a breakfast section. It was particularly disappointing as we would much rather have sampled some of the wonderful Indian dishes than resorted to familiar Western breakfasts. Such a shame, because everything else about the hotel was lovely. With a little more consistency and better communication in the restaurant, it would have been a wonderful stay all round.

WE WERE MEANT TO HAVE A GARDEN VIEW BUT LOOKING OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW WAS HOTEL CONSTRUCTION

Everything at the Taj Ganges was exceptionally good, one bad thing we faced was an insect in breakfast salad, but the chef and staffs made sure we leave with a good experience , they appologized and compensated with great gesture. The housekeeping made sure my kid enjoys his birthday with special decoration

We liked everything , specially the food.

Many Items were repeated in Breakfast Signature Dishes of City - Kachori, Sabji, Jalebi etc was not available Made available to some other guests who quarreled for it Room was overpriced per night & very small Room Service food was costly and not upto the mark
