JA The Bruntsfield - Edinburgh

I loved the location and the neighbourhood. Lots of lovely independent shops, cafes and restaurants with easy public transport links to city centre.Would stay again as situated close to my daughter. Helpful staff, spacious and clean room.

The hallways are looking tired.

Lovely hotel, helpful staff, dog friendly, great location with a short walk to main attractions. Overall a great stay!

The room was nice and the beds comfortable - nice linen and pillows although it was quite small.

The bathroom fan was exceptionally noisy and I could even hear the fan from the next door room and room upstairs. The breakfast host was pleasant enough although failed to notice my infirm mother in law and tried to show us to a table down steps (she was walking slowly with a stick). Breakfast was poor - on the first day I waited about 25 minutes for two poached eggs and on the second, despite asking for two only received one ! It was a tad pathetic. Also, with only one coffee machine, it was a tad chaotic. There clearly weren't enough staff at breakfast and the tables sat uncleaned for most of our time in the breakfast area.
