Hotel de la Plage Santa Vittoria

We decided to return to Algajola after staying at Beau Rivage Hotel last year, which offered magnificent views. As it was closed early this season, we booked a sea-view room at Santa Vittoria Hotel, hoping for a similar experience. The location and views were wonderful, but unfortunately, the room fell short of our expectations. It was extremely small, with no kettle, and the old, worn mattress definitely needs replacing. The furniture and overall decor are outdated and could benefit from renovation. Another major issue was the large gap around the door, allowing noise from the hallway to travel easily into the room. At around €150 for two nights out of season, we expected a little more comfort and attention to detail.

Breakfast at €12 per person was also disappointing, with a basic selection, no fresh fruit and terrible coffee.The hotel has great potential thanks to its fantastic location, but the rooms, soundproofing, furniture and breakfast need improvement to justify the price. The views are the highlight, but unfortunately, they are not enough to compensate for the other shortcomings.

Nous avons apprécié le côté intimiste de ce petit hôtel et sa situation en bord de mer. Les petits déjeuners étaient très bien, variés et copieux. L'ambiance et le personnel de l'hôtel étaient très bien. Les repas servis au restaurant étaient très bons, délicieux et bien présentés. situation privilégiée au coeur du joli petit village d'Algajola.

Nous avions rien de vraiment négatif à dire, juste peut-être la petitesse de la douche et le rideau de douche que nous trouvons un peu démodé et pas très hygiénique.

It's a family hotel stretching back for generations of Martellis, with lots of charm; and with an excellent restaurant, serving Corsican dishes ranging from good to outstanding. There is also a splendid feast of a continental breakfast, with much delicious local produce (including fantastic bread, preserves, fruits, and eggs).

The self-service machine coffee at breakfast. Also, the smaller rooms are cramped (it is uncomfortable to sit on the toilet with the door closed). The rooms interiors are dated (although clean). However, the old-fashioned decor is arguably an integral part of the hotel's charm.
