Excellent breakfast. Excellent location.
The paintings in the house. The paintings, particularly the portraits (apart from the large portrait in the dining room), were of mediocre quality and were not befitting a property of this calibre. There are many paintings of quality which can be bought at auction at a modest price and which would raise the impressiveness of the hotel.

Beautiful gardens to walk around
Staff very attentive
Comfortable room
Exceptional catering & understanding of allergens / intolerances. (They even left a gluten free dairy free brownie in my room when I arrived) They kept notes on them against my room so i didnt even need to mention each visit.
No major issues - it’s slightly out of the way and taxis are limited in the area. reception will happily book them for you but it’s best to give as much notice in advance otherwise you might be in for a long wait.

Nice overall ambience
Small room and tight for space. Restaurant and breakfast service very slow. No hairdryer in the room and telephone not working. No plug in the bath.
