location above bars meant slight noise in evenings. absence of air conditioning in rooms but available in lounge. number of steps to negotiate. advantages outweighed disavantages

THE PAYMENT AT RECEPTION TO STAY IN OUR ROOM FOR AN EXTRA FEW HOURS (120 EUROS!) ON THE FINAL DAY WAS EXTREMELY EXCESSIVE!

Location is so picturesque and gardens are well maintained and beautiful. Walking around you won’t see a speck of litter. The apartment was nice, 2 balconies front & back, good size and have everything you need.

Firstly, the apartment still wasn’t cleaned and ready for check in at 5pm! This appears a common issue, we saw this happen to others time and again during our stay. No apology, just “go and have a drink and come back”. Racquel’s customer service skills leave a lot to be desired. Secondly, we didn’t see a maid for the entire 7 days we were there. When on day 5 we still hadn’t had a visit we went to ask, my husband was told “the maid was sick” but she’d visit tomorrow (again no apologies or offers of help). Narked by this (and with bath towels in desperate need of changing) we took our dirty towels to the office ourselves and asked her to exchange for clean ones. She obliged. Next day, guess what? No maid, no apology, nothing. The night before we left, I returned some hired pool towels and Racquel eventually asked in a disinterested way, how our stay had been. I told her we’d had a lovely time, the grounds were lovely (mostly) but we felt let down by their service, lack of maids, and communication. She proceeded to tell us “the maid ran out of time” and then “you got new towels so what’s the problem” and told me I should be doing my own cleaning, emptying bins, etc. she literally couldn’t care less and acted like a rude petulant child. Zero customer service. Not a single apology. Lazy company! There are 2 other rental companies in the old village, give them a try instead of this one is my advice. Thirdly, pool areas are tired and shabby with many missing tiles and should not have reopened this season in this condition. The pools open at 9am, you have to queue to get beds at those times. There are 2 Q’s; 1 for owners who get first dibs, the other for guests. You pay €2 per session per bed (am/pm) so all day costs €4 per person. Cash only. I would go back again, but not with this company. I would also want to see the pools fixed and better maintained. I never once saw anyone check the levels 🦠
