Banyan Tree Bintan

Came here for a girls weekend to rest and recharge. Banyan tree Bintan is a beautiful well kept property with amazing views and the best hospitality. Every detail was well thought out and we have arrived back home feeling super rested and relaxed. All the staff were so welcoming and the small details like the turn down service and room amenities made our stay all the more special, you really only need to arrive with swimwear and a change of clothes! Had an amazing facial and massage with Thalia at the resort spa. Have to give a big shout out to the buggy driver Kasir, he was super friendly and helpful. Bonus treat was seeing monkeys right outside our villa. We were sad to leave but will definitely be back.

Great breakfast with great staff. Great staff in all three restaurants (Treetops, the Cove and Thai). All attended to my vegan needs. Excellent room decorations and surprises by Darwin and Lilik. Buggy staff were incredibly helpful as were those attending the pool by the beach.

Hotel next door playing loud music which could be heard on the beach and by the pool. Not becoming of the Banyan Tree experience.

Lovely villas, superb pools, beautiful rain forest setting. The staff were very nice, helpful people. They're a real credit to the resort. Great to stay at a Hotel that provides so many places to put your clothes, thats a rare thing these days sadly.

The Villa was a little dated in parts. They could replace the king size mattress to a super king to cover the large wood base, so you don't knock the base. Shame it was so cloudy and no sun most days because of the bush fires in Indonesia locals said. Not the resorts fault. Singapore was exactly the same - cloudy every day, no sun.

The only five star resort in the main stretch of Bintan beach. The food at the restaurants is also delicious. The villas are big but showing the age (private pool).

At check -out, we were charged for the tote bag that was inside our closet. In 5 star resorts, these are usually for use for guests. They insisted there was a price tag so we had to pay at check-out cos the bag was packed inside the luggage. However, I sent a photo as proof afterwards that for this particular bag, there was indeed no price tag thus we thought it was for guests to bring with them. They stopped responding to my last message when I raised it and insisted we were wrong. It’s a shame that they are doubting the honesty of their guests for a 5 star resort that charges 500++ GBP per night. Really disappointing.
