The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The property offers both indoor and outdoor onsens, with the outdoor onsen being particularly enjoyable. Soaking in the warm, soothing water while feeling the cool autumn evening breeze of Matsumoto was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. Another lovely highlight was the small live concert performed by local musicians, which added a special touch to our stay and made the evening even more enjoyable.

The property is located quite a distance from the train station, which can be inconvenient, especially if you need to catch an early morning bus or train. Arranging a taxi was also challenging, as several taxi companies were unwilling to accept bookings at such an early hour. Fortunately, we were incredibly grateful to Mr. Yamamoto, the staff manager who wore a single-breasted suit vest, for kindly offering to drive us to the train station so we could catch our train on time. His thoughtfulness and willingness to go the extra mile truly made a difference and left us with a wonderful impression of the hospitality we received during our stay.

Evident that the hotel stay was going to be exceptional when the manager assists us in the check-in process while serving us hot green tea. In fact throughout the stay every staff member treated us with kindness and professionalism. The kaiseki style Japanese meals was totally unbelievable. The multi course meal is served with strict attention to detail with the elaborate preparation of cuisine items served on beautiful ceramic dishes. Uncooked items were cooked on the spot via special heating pots. Everything was delicious. Only complaint was one tended to overeat. The roof top onsens(hot soaking tubs) were a delight being out in the open skies especially at night under the stars. The evening entertainment was superb with traditional dancing and all manner of instrumental performers. Hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood with hotel provided parking. We were originally going to book a stay at another onsen resort but no availability--best thing that happened! Wife inadvertently left shoes in entryway cabinet. Hotel was kind enough to mail shoes to Tokyo free of charge! We will be returning next year!
