Anantara The Marker Dublin- A Leading Hotel of the World

The room was beautifully appointed, particularly the bathroom which was a gorgeous white marble. The bed was big and comfy. The rooftop bar was beautiful, with a really good range of food and drinks (the limoncello spritz was amazing). In particular, Maria, who served me each day, was brilliant and remembered my order. I also liked the food; very tasty and above what I was expecting. The location was very convenient and an easy walk in to town.

The spa was quite small - I went both days I was staying but no loungers were available. I did have a massage the second day, but it probably wasn't really worth the price vs. other massages I've had on my travels. Whilst the bathroom was nice, I found the bedroom area itself a little stuffy - on arrival it smelled a little of smoke/mustiness plus there were still old used cleaning cloths left out in the room by accident and an unstocked mini bar. I also had my bank card hacked online whilst staying - I don't think this was the hotel's fault but they use unprotected wifi so just be careful. It's my travel bank card and I hadn't used it anywhere in the last 8 months - I then entered the details to buy online tickets whilst in Ireland whilst on the hotel's wifi - and the next day someone tried to use the card to buy Netflix in Ireland.

The room was spacious and the bathroom facilities were excellent. The 2 comfy chairs meant in room dining was a comfy option. The food at breakfast was varied and the fruit was perfect. The room service breakfast was also very good and the food was hot on arrival. The bar food and service was also excellent and encouraged us to eat daily at the hotel. The staff were exceptionally good throughout the hotel and were very professional. The pool facilities are very good and the spa treatment was excellent

The location is amazing

During breakfast, I found a hair in the eggs I had ordered. While I understand mistakes can happen, I was disappointed by the way the matter was handled. A fruit plate sent to my room with a thank-you note does not reflect the seriousness of the issue. I would expect a more appropriate and formal apology.

The spa and swimming pool were good. The bed was very comfortable.

The bath didn’t drain properly. When you let the bath water out it would bubble up in the shower drain and flood the bathroom. The reception staff also tried to charge us double for breakfast when breakfast was included in the original price of the booking. The hotel is a 20 minute walk away from the city centre and there are not many restaurants nearby.
